Amelia didn't seem to understand at first.
The kidnapper was patient, almost as if he knew everyone outside was watching this scene unfold. He even took the time to "kindly" summarize it—
"So, according to what you're saying, you stole Miss Anna's son and made him into a so-called illegitimate child. That illegitimate child… is Logan, isn't it?"
"Then—what does this story have to do with Owen?"
The kidnapper feigned confusion. "At best, Owen just isn't Anna's son. At worst, he's nothing more than an adopted child. And you'd spend a hundred million on an adopted child? Come on—I don't buy it."
"If Owen's worthless to you, then maybe I should just—"
"No, no, no! Don't!" Amelia screamed in terror. "Owen is my son—my biological son!"
