"I'm just confused by your persistence, that's all." he said, his dark eyes locking onto hers. "It almost feels like you're keeping an eye on me, not just joining forces."
Sasha stiffened, her cheeks flushing faintly as she snapped back, her voice a touch too quick. "You're dreaming, you sure you still haven't fully recovered?" she said, her tone defensive, almost flustered.
"Why would I do that? I'm not some stalker who goes around stealing people's partners. If I had any such ideas, I wouldn't be able to look Chen Hua in the face." Her words spilled out in a rush, her usual arrogance faltering as she realized how much she'd revealed, her red eyes darting to Chen Hua before returning to Lin Mu, a mix of defiance and embarrassment in her gaze.
