{Chapter: 269 The Incredible Hulk}
"Roaaar! Roaaar!" Banner's furious cries echoed through the air as his body began to undergo a monstrous transformation. His muscles bulged, his frame expanded at an alarming rate, and the sounds of tearing fabric filled the space. His clothes shredded into scraps, unable to contain the rapid growth. Within seconds, Bruce Banner was gone—and in his place stood a towering green behemoth. The Hulk had arrived.
"Excellent... truly excellent," William murmured, a dark grin curling across his lips as he gazed upon the raging giant.
"ROAR!" Hulk bellowed, his voice shaking the air as he charged forward like a living avalanche. His fury was unrestrained, and his desire to destroy everything in his path was plain as day.
BOOM!
Hulk's colossal fist slammed into William, sending him flying backward like a missile. William's body crashed into the earth and tumbled across the ground, churning up dirt and debris. He finally skidded to a halt nearly seventy meters away, carving a scar into the earth with his body.
Groaning, William pushed himself upright, wiping a streak of blood from the corner of his mouth. "Now that's more like it... That kind of strength—only the Hulk could possess it."
But there was no time to rest.
"ROOOAR!!" Hulk roared again, his massive feet pounding the ground like thunder. He rushed forward with the fury of a charging bull and slammed his entire body into William.
William barely had time to react. He thrust both palms forward and caught Hulk by the head, his feet skidding backward violently from the force of the charge. Dust and earth erupted behind him in a long trail.
"You're stronger than I thought... but I'm not like the weaklings you've smashed before," William growled, his arms trembling from the strain. "You're not the only one who can bring the pain!"
"ROOOAR!" Hulk howled, shoving with all his might. His massive hands crushed into the earth for leverage, dirt exploding beneath his grip.
William dug in his heels and slowly forced Hulk back an inch. "Incredible... The more enraged you become, the more stronger unstoppable you get. You're like a walking cheat code."
"RAAAHHH!" Hulk responded with a mighty swing, launching his fist at William's chest.
William crossed his arms just in time to block the blow, but the impact hurled him backward, skidding across the ground and carving deep trenches in the dirt. He finally came to a halt, panting, a flicker of thrill in his golden eyes.
In the distance, Hulk let out a roar that shook the heavens. His rage had not diminished—in fact, it was only escalating.
From the sidelines, Natasha ran onto the scene, her expression icy cold. "William! You actually released him?! You'd better be ready to face the consequences. This... this is on you."
"ROOOAR!!" Hulk charged at William again with reckless fury.
William's eyes suddenly gleamed with golden light. "Then let's push the limits. Let me see just how far your power can go!"
William's pupils turned golden. A powerful shockwave pulsed outward in a blazing ripple, cracking the earth as it rushed toward Hulk.
BANG!
The telekinetic pulse struck Hulk directly. The green titan staggered slightly, forced back a single step, but then let out another earth-shaking roar and continued his charge, completely unfazed by the blast.
In the blink of an eye, Hulk was right in front of William, throwing a punch fueled by pure rage.
But William vanished.
He reappeared above Hulk, floating in the air with a crimson fireball forming between his hands. The sphere grew rapidly, reaching half a meter in diameter. With a grim grin, he hurled it down at the green giant.
BOOM!
A wave of searing flames exploded across the battlefield. Hulk howled in pain as the fireball detonated against him, blasting him backward like a ragdoll. His massive frame tumbled across the ground, flames licking at his body, burning through skin and muscle. His once green hide charred black from the intense heat.
But the Hulk was not so easily broken.
"RAAAH!!" he roared in agony, rolling violently across the ground, trying to extinguish the flames. His fury deepened with every passing second, feeding his power.
Then, with an explosive surge, Hulk stood up, chest heaving, muscles swelling even larger. The flames were hurled from his body with a mighty flex, and the burnt skin began to rapidly heal. Black char faded away and returned to a vibrant green, as if the fire had never touched him.
"You're regenerating at that rate?" William's eyes glinted with interest. "Fascinating. You are the kind I like."
The Hulk let out a guttural roar that reverberated through the ruins of the battlefield. His massive green muscles coiled like springs, and with a thunderous push of his legs, he launched himself into the air like a missile. His target: the hovering figure of William, who floated calmly above the shattered earth, his robes flickering from the pressure of rising wind and crackling energy.
"Ha!" William shouted, thrusting his right arm forward.
His fist was cloaked in arcs of crackling white-blue lightning. As the two titans collided in midair—green fury against refined power—the impact echoed like a bomb blast across the city.
Boom!
The shockwave that erupted was immense. A dome of blinding white electricity radiated outward, shredding nearby debris and blowing apart already fractured buildings. The concussive force knocked vehicles off the ground, shattered glass for blocks, and sent birds scattering from the skyline.
Nearby, Natasha had been sprinting to a safer vantage point—but she wasn't fast enough.
"Ahh!" she screamed as the electric pulse slammed into her body. Caught in the fringes of the blast, she was thrown into the air like a ragdoll, arcs of lightning dancing across her limbs. She hit the ground hard and writhed, her muscles twitching uncontrollably as residual static rippled through her nerves.
Back in the sky, the Hulk's body was flung like a meteor from the epicenter of the impact. He slammed into the ground with earth-shaking force, forming a crater shaped like his body. Smoke and electricity coiled around him, crawling across his skin. The giant creature growled and writhed, clearly in pain, as bolts of lightning continued to spark along his massive frame.
William fared no better.
The force of their clash had sent him careening backward through the air. He flew more than a hundred meters before gravity caught up, and he slammed into the ground with bone-jarring force, tumbling through craters and piles of rubble. Dust filled the air in his wake.
Groaning, William rose slowly. His clothes were torn, and one of his arm was cracked. Blood trickled down his forearm. He glanced at his right hand—the skin was peeled, raw and crimson, the knuckles split open.
"That… hurt," he muttered to himself, wiping the blood on his robes. "But damn, that strength… Hulk, you're a force of nature."
Suddenly, a feral roar cut through the dust cloud.
"ROOOAAAR!!"
The Hulk leapt out of his crater like an animal driven mad, his expression twisted with rage. His charge was terrifying, a blur of green fury moving at blistering speed. He dashed toward William at over a hundred meters per second. The sound of his footsteps alone shattered loose stones and left small craters in the ground.
William barely had time to react.
Just as Hulk's massive fist, now glowing faintly with residual electricity, was about to strike, William vanished in a golden shimmer.
Boom!
Hulk's punch landed on empty air—followed by the earth. The result was catastrophic. The ground exploded beneath his fist. Chunks of concrete and asphalt were launched into the sky. A pit the size of a small swimming pool formed beneath him, with jagged cracks spiraling out like a spider web.
William reappeared behind him, hovering in midair.
"The rage… it's changing you," William observed with fascination. "Your power multiplies with every scream. That last punch… at least eighty tons of force, maybe more."
He raised a booted foot and kicked Hulk square in the back.
"Roar!!"
The mighty green beast roared in fury as he stumbled forward, landing hard on his face in a clumsy, almost comedic sprawl. But there was nothing funny about the raw fury bubbling beneath his emerald skin.
"He's getting angrier..." William whispered, eyes narrowing.
The Hulk pushed himself up, bellowing at the sky with renewed fury. His muscles bulged grotesquely, his skin darkened to a deeper green, and his eyes burned with primal rage. Veins pulsed along his arms like rivers of molten anger.
"Roar..." Angry, angry, Hulk's anger continued to rise, and his strength, speed, and defense continued to increase, as if there was no end.
Without warning, Hulk grabbed a massive slab of stone—an uprooted piece of a collapsed building more than ten meters tall—and hurled it at William with a mighty shout.
BOOM!!
The boulder struck the earth near William's last location and exploded into a thousand fragments. Shards of rock shot in every direction. A mushroom cloud of dust surged upward, obscuring the sky and blackening the ruins around them. Debris rained from the heavens like meteors.
Through the chaos, a streak of red light emerged.
William flew out of the dust cloud, punching one of the airborne rocks into gravel with a single glowing fist.
A sudden roar echoed behind him. Hulk again.
Hurtling through the air with impossible speed, Hulk's fist descended upon William's back like a hammer.
But William didn't turn. His eyes flashed yellow, and the earth answered his call.
From the ground behind him, a stone mountain surged upward in an instant—a construct, jagged and steep.
CRACK!!
Hulk slammed into the stone wall midair, completely demolishing it. The mountain burst apart like sand under the weight of his fury. Debris fell like an avalanche. The force of Hulk's impact created a shockwave that rocked nearby ruins, sending more buildings toppling.
William flew forward through the sky, grinning despite the chaos.
"Come on, Green Fat Man," he taunted, voice amplified with a magical echo. "Chase me. Let's go on a little vacation. I hear the people of Kolkata are dying to meet you!"
Hulk landed heavily and let out a thunderous roar that shook the clouds.
Without hesitation, he sprinted after William, each footstep creating mini-quakes, pulverizing the landscape. The terrain cracked beneath him. He tore through the battlefield like a green freight train powered by fury and unstoppable will.
The chase had begun again.
And this time, neither man nor monster showed any signs of holding back.
