The sun dropped in the sky and night came swiftly— like the sun was harshly dragged down once it reached a specific point, and yet, I and my company were safe in the sky.
'Is this really still earth though?'
Unfortunately no one could answer the questions I asked in my head.
Just like before, the water came flooding with a furious intensity— waves crashing on waves, tearing out the trees in their path.
And I walked, watching it all from above.
My entire afternoon was spent learning how to use the boots and conquer my fear of heights— the fear I didn't know I had till I was ten feet away from the ground.
Now I couldn't even count how high up I was, and the only thing keeping me alive were these boots.
And yes... they were alive.
That fact might have disturbed me, but then, it was the only reason we all learnt to use them so quickly.
Mine bobbed up and down as I walked, as though warning me that it could drop me into the water if it wished.
Fortunately for me it didn't... at least it hadn't found a good reason to.
But then, it seemed like only mine felt the need to taunt me because, everyone else didn't seem worried.
Some people.... crazily enough, were even having fun...
Ahead of me; Theo, Mum and Ren raced each other to the tower.
A RACE !!!
They ran in the air, taking huge steps as their boots whistled— which was barely audible from the storm below.
They'd been racing each other over and over since afternoon. Running back and forth in the air.
Ahead of us was the tower, so close that we could reach it before morning broke.
Finally.
We can make it back.
Maybe..... hopefully, we could get back to our world.
Beneath me the water raged endlessly, and yet I was so high up I didn't even feel its splashes, only the dreadful cold it brought.
Kendali flew somewhere below— completely disregarding the cold, She still wore the boots... but then she ignored them, flying close to the waves like she was in some superhero movie.
Though something about her powers felt off to me...
How did one fly with telekinesis really.....
If it was a push or pull force it would be quite hard to fly the way she did so gracefully.
And that was despite the fact that she was manipulating her own body— her body that she couldn't even see completely.
But then, none of that concerned me, and so I watched her as she flew, making curves and tiny loops in the air below me.
And so we continued towards the tower, above the rushing waves.
