"All packed?"
"Yes," Helena answered Vernon.
"Called everyone you should? You know there won't be any signals there, right?" Vernon asked again.
"Yes, I did. All the calls were done. I informed them not to disturb me for the next week as well." Helena pouted as she replied. He asked so many questions already, and she was fed up.
She never knew Vernon had the ability to nag like a mom before.
Vernon's lips twitched when he heard her thoughts. He wasn't her mom. But he was careful, alright?
He raised his hand and knocked on her head hard.
"Ahh! What's that for?" Helena rubbed her head and asked him.
"It's for calling me mom," Vernon said.
"What? When did I call you mom?" [How did he know what I thought? I am sure I didn't say that out loud, right?]
Vernon realized his mistake immediately. He had completely forgotten about hearing Helena's thoughts and reacted subconsciously.
