Astraea's POV
By the time the car pulled into the estate, I felt like I'd been broken in half. Three and a half hours of sitting in the backseat had left my whole body stiff, my head aching, and my patience gone.
It was already dark, and all I wanted was to get inside, drop on my bed, and let sleep take me. Tomorrow, I would decide what to do about the so-called goddess, but as for tonight, I just needed rest.
I pushed the front door open and walked in, not bothering to stop anywhere else. My feet carried me down the hallway toward my room, and I was really hoping I wouldn't run into anyone, more specifically, Draven, whose questions I wasn't ready to answer just yet, but as I got closer, I slowed.
Someone was there, and I immediately knew that it was Zephyra.
She was sitting on the floor outside my door, her knees pulled up to her chest, and her head resting on them like she was hiding. The sight of her made me stop in my tracks.
