Third-person POV
The room still smelled like them. Warm skin, sweat, and that sweet, tired scent that lingered after hours of being in bed. Astraea lay on her back, one arm behind her head, the other resting on Zephyra's bare back. Zephyra was curled against her, breathing soft and slow, a small smile tugging at her lips.
They hadn't meant to spend the whole evening in bed without stepping out once, but it just happened. One kiss turned into several, and one round turned into four, maybe five.
They'd stopped counting somewhere in the middle of the night. Everything outside that room had felt distant, like the rest of the world had gone quiet just for them.
But now, as the silence stretched, Zephyra's stomach growled loudly.
She laughed softly and lifted her head. "Okay, I need food, like right now, and you better not try to stop me this time."
Astraea smirked. "When did I ever try to stop you?"
"You were the one keeping me busy, remember?"
