I blinked and looked at Tabletina.
She continued to explain her thoughts.
"Beemarines aren't immune to smoke, although they are immune to venoms. Smoke isn't a 'venom' or a 'poison', although it has an effect like some venoms. It makes people suffocate."
I scratched my chin.
She was right!
Venom was just one of the forms of toxins. Venom resistance gave protection against venoms and poisons, even those in airborne form, but not against all possible toxins.
Smoke was one of the things that, although toxic, wasn't considered by the system as a poison.
This meant that other creatures with maxed-out venom resistance would not be immune to smoke, either. There was a reason smoke wasn't used as a weapon by bees before, though…
