All the jostling skewed Farini's hat to the side, and Whisper could easily crawl from underneath it and look around.
Their current place really was, as Farini thought about it, a cell. By human standard, it was also tiny—just a couple hundred meters in all directions. Smells of humans and their poor hygiene filled the air, making Whispers' sensitive antennae curl in disgust.
The only source of light and moderately fresh air were several long horizontal holes in the cell's door. Each was big enough that Whisper could easily crawl through.
She cheered up. In the worst-case scenario, at least she could escape.
But abandoning her assigned human would be a total failure for her as an Agent.
