"To be entirely honest, this thing is my greatest pride" said Lawrence as he was sitting in a dark metal chair in an elegant room made to look like the gala of a fancy cruise ship, a window leading outside and showing the chain they were floating aside off, the great beast moving much faster than they had been capable of doing ever before.
They were all sitting down on a round table, each one on something that resembled an elegant thrown, Lawrence the furthest from the window made of orange-tinted something, Akrisen directly to his left, next to Akrisen Ohrren, next to Ohrren being Avere, on his left side, perhaps because he had caught some of their conversations, Kehit and next to her Leyk.
He had his hands put together, straightening out his head as he put it's weight atop them in a way similar to when one prayed, the table in the middle being made of dark metal as well, but as with the ceilings and walls of the rather small room, crackling with magma flowing underneath, resting for a bit after they had arrived, some of them even attempting to close their eyes until Lawrence had begun talking seemingly out of the blue, having expected questions about this creature but never having gotten them, simply because of shock in most cases, at least, until Avere finally opened his mouth and asked a question in regards to Lawrence's so-called pride.
"H-how in heaven's name did you create this?" was the question, and as he asked it, everyone else agreed silently, nodding and looking towards the tyrant that had not yet given his rank to the public but was quick to answer.
"Simply speaking, it is not my first time here. The only thing that is new are some of the cubes atop the head of the great city of flames, as well as the fact it is once more flying."
"How long did it even take to create something like this?"
"Oh" said Lawrence, laughing slightly as he leaned back in his seat, the metal giving way to his back as a crack resounded and he returned to his original position, talking again just mere seconds later.
"It took me a thousand years to create this beast and the fleet following it." said Lawrence brashly, his amber eyes fixated on the surroundings, the infinite beast heaving up a single arm that seemed to be far wider than most islands they had seen in this place, the creature deciding to seemingly duck under an island covered in ice with greater golems that had just appeared, dunking it's eyes, and the window they were seeing through into the sea of false light they weren't really able to see right now.
Still, it caused Lawrence to let out some questioning noise and once more look at Avere as if he was about to pose another question that would change many a thing about this realm for him, the rest of the people sitting around to a great degree still being lost in the feat of creating somethign that was bigger than most countries, with them not even having been able to clearly see this monster.
"Beyond the light we are swimming through right now there are many things, islands obscured, people that fell and stayed there, ripped apart by great beasts, monsters so bad not even I might be able to face them in some cases, and so much more." he paused.
"But, still, I always wondered why the illusionary light did not function the same as real light, illusions normally being created from light and not from lies in my world." he added the last part with a sly smile, looking at the new group that sat in his home for answers, but not really getting any, at least until Leyk opened his eyes, Akrisen just sitting there, no smile visible but the head turned with purpose, looking out of the orange glass, acting by themselves for the first time in what seemed like since they had first met them.
"Maybe it is just what we think we want the abyss to look like, not like darkness, but like the light that we have once tried to reach, still obscuring what we see, still containing monsters, but just as our surroundings up there, veiled to not be heard and not be perceived aside from their mana." answered Leyk, putting his head on his fists in the same way that Lawrence had done, feeling a bit philosophical from the way they were flying through the endless light, only occasionally resurging for no apparent reason.
"Indeed" began Lawrence, looking at Leyk, " perhaps light is just what we want to see when we end, the end we want to oftentimes even escape to..." he paused for a moment, " I have indeed seen many good men, women and in-between jump downwards, fall after being pushed by good friends for greedily gain, so much more, so perhaps it is truly what we want to see last..."
As they continued their conversation they exchanged a few ideas but ended up staying as silent as a grave at midnight, only a few exchanges happening after, mostly taking place whenever they passed another island far above them, or when a more powerful beast appeared and was dealt with using the sheer power and mass of the tentacles, mostly drowning, even if some of them might have been of the tyrant rank.
However, about a day after they had started flying, a few weeks of travel time in terms of the speed they had previously been journeying at, Avere began hearing an incessant voice that moved him to finally stand up from his seat and journey through the empty halls that made up the inside of the beast once more, never having been one to sit in a single place for all that long.
It was like laughter, high but calming, as if his legs were moving by themselves, until, finally, Avere stood face to face with another person.
