The group of five did have to jump a few dozen feet high each to get across the ledge on which the chain was magically affixed, all of them being able to do that much with ease, be it that Ohrren did the most impressive example of it as he weighed the most by far, as well as held another person atop his shoulders like a father held his toddler, the aloof boy regularly starting to wiggle his legs in boredom without seemingly even realizing, never talking, Avere silently desiring to talk to him as they crossed through thick trees, still following a straight line but Leyk asking to turn around the mountain as he felt there would probably be monsters waiting up on the peak of it.
Ironically enough, though, they did not heed that warning, most of them being likely to want to see Leyk in action once more Leyk also being rather interested in fighting, having made that obvious as he had rung with himself on whether to tell them or not, longing to try out demonic magic and the linguistic tricks Kehit had told him about, using magic in the surrounding area once more and even modifying the own body as well as some other basics that sounded rather simple when one realized how they worked, much simpler than intent woven into magic that he was already able to use and was also happy about being able to maybe test out.
It was not difficult for them to hike onto the mountain, it being rather steep in some areas, causing them to partially just jump above small ridges and cliffs until they reached a cave where they decided to take a small break inside off, resting their legs that weren't actually tired or anything, be it that their feet did feel a bit sore after not really walking all that much during the trials and having to run for over eleven hours straight with only a single break of not even a quarter minute.
Leyk stretched out his feet inside the cavern that was like a round room, a dome above them that was shaped in quite intricate ways, dripping coming out of a small opening that led further into the cave, a place that Leyk had explored using mana and told the others was safe as it was empty, only filled with a single corpse of someone that had tried to climb in, blade held in his hands, rusted and old, his teeth bestowed with two big ones at the front that easily protruded from it's rather big maw, making him believe the person had been here since before this place had been in the forsaken realm.
After some time of her looking outside, Ohrren and Avere sitting rather wide away from each other, the aloof boy just laying where the burly man had put him down, as if he had readied himself for the fate of being eaten by whatever was on the island, Kehit sat down next to Leyk who intended to ask something he hadn't asked before but was just now realizing, whispering quietly as for Akrisen not to hear.
"Why do you even take him with you if he seems so ready to just give up and die?" was his question, him hoping that only the intended receiver of the question had heard since it was rather... mean...
"You'd be surprised, but when we are in danger, or we're in hopeless situations he somehow always survives despite being in the most danger when being attacked, and he almost always saves us as well for some reason..." she began...smirking slightly after a little bit..." maybe he does like us... at least slightly... hell, maybe he even likes being carried upon Ohrren's shoulder" she smiled a bit as she cracked that last joke and Leyk had to admit that he found it a bit funny as well, Avere just staring as the two continued talking and talking, sighing and looking over at Ohrren who was sighing as well, seemingly annoyed by it as well, having been forced to hear pretty much everything aside from the actual substance of the conversation, the only one not caring seeming to be the obvious subject of said conversation, Akrisen who was still lying on the ground, basically motionless.
They took a break of talking for a bit as well, resting their dry mouths, Leyk closing his eyes to envision the lingual magic she had told him about, many of which consisted of controlling the surroundings and forming rather simple spells through commands linked with predestined spells woven into your mind or into your equipment, and others with larger chants that just resonated with the mana as well, be it that Leyk wasn't sure about whether or not he'd be capable of doing such a thing.
As he had his eyes closed the other four, excluding Akrisen who just laid there and Kehit who had also closed her eyes, her pose for some reason still very defensive, Avere and Ohrren tried talking freely with each other but got stuck on a few too many things, such as opinion on magic and bows, where Ohrren believed magic to be less accurate and bows to be more specialized whereas Avere believed bows to be highly limited because the time it takes to reload, saying it only really becomes useful when paired with magic.
Leyk was listening as well, thinking that the big guy maybe had a different way of firing the arrow than Avere was thinking about, but as he found it a bit amusing to hear his other self, still wearing armour that seemed to be almost weightless, being so very annoyed about something with a rather little purpose in this entire thing, despite the guy having seemed all but apathetic towards everything the first time they had met when he had struggled to explain himself because he had been asleep mere instants before and they had seen a corpse rise from the dead and grow skin.
Like this it continued for a bit, Leyk hearing some rattling from time to time, some irregularities in the dripping, each time preparing to fight the monsters that he feared could come from everywhere but never came, most likely truly hiding atop the mountain, most likely not even having noticed them yet.
Oh, Leyk thought as he smirked a bit, that would be soon to change.
