Chapter 315 - Journey to the golden city(4)

"The vampire was infused with golden style, not that that was important, she was female, just like you" he nodded towards Kehit, " and she was powerful, she was able to quite easily break powerful barriers I had created, destroying them with pure muscular power, using fire magic in quite the clever way of concealing herself" he paused for a small moment.

"But that's not the reason I am so interested in what I want to ask you..." he paused once more, looking around at the three, nodding towards Avere, his other self that had previously taken the lead in the conversation, giving him a slightly better opinion of his other self as he, himself, was not that adept at talking to others from what he could tell.

"The girl was rather skilled and extremely powered for a transcribe, me being one of that rank myself back then" he added slily, intent on telling them he was at another rank than they were at, making Kehit's eyes regain even more clarity and a bit of sharper intent, realizing that she could perhaps even use them to make it easier for them all to survive.

"She survived with ridiculous endurance, even greater than her strength, and while that might have just been her own skills and training, perhaps one of the various kinds of strengthening through mana I might not yet be aware of" he said, making Avere perk up who had not been aware of many kinds of strengthening, intent on asking him later in turn for some of his previously beheld information, something that Leyk, a great strategist in most cases, had already been aware of and intent of causing with his remarks that down-played what he was going to say next a tiny bit.

"In the end I cut off various parts of her body" he said, making clear he was not one to mess around in a battle, be it that that was not exactly the truth, "but she somehow survived even after I cut off her head, only dying once I stabbed her heart completely." he ended it, or at least he ended the first telling of the backstory, using his newfound beauty and handsome features to look into Kehit's eyes who would have been surely smitten had vampires not been rather immune to seduction as not to fall in love with prey, not to say it did nothing at all.

"She even survived when I cut off her head and threw it away, her body continuing without her mind that resided in her brain as you surely know" he said directly to Kehit, starting to further understand and utilize the power of his current appearance, though he was certainly not able to take full utility of it before he was able to see himself in some kind of mirror, a service that Avere would perhaps provide later on.

"So, I wanted to ask, what would I have to do to become a vampire?" he said, coming slightly closer to Kehit who was now starting to grow slightly smitten due to the force of Manug's passive whose true power was finally being used on a female instead of a male, the Sekaria Cades seemingly having chosen to postpone his little joke for later as not to make this interaction harder than it had to be.

Kehit hesitated for a moment, seemingly slightly flattered, slightly flustered, and slightly confused by the question until a devilish grin spread on her face and she realized that she could use this just as well as they could use their superior strength to dominate them right now... after all, right now, she had information they wanted, not the other way around, though Avere did have the compass...

"It is rather simple, but what will you give me in return for that secret I know?" she said, remembering the very reason she had been banished to this place and adding that bit of information on, exaggerating some parts of it to gain even greater leverage.

"When a vampire is normally turned the strength depends on the grade of the turned vampire, and your goal seems fairly high, but if I turned you, which should actually help you achieve it to a certain degree, you would have to serve me." she revealed, letting out that he could gain the missing power and his own control by killing the person holding the leash.

"But I was banished to this place for finding the way, a rather simple spell I have learned, of turning a normal being into a vampire, the very spell that started the vampirism disease, and for the right price I will cast the spell, which will turn you into a grade zero vampire, a progenitor, just like me, without me having any control over you..." she said, smiling with an inviting gaze, the others listening intently as she proposed it, with Leyk smiling slightly as he thought about some of the things he had gained from his journey, Leyk quickly thinking and then opening his mouth again, revealing the annoyingly perfect teeth that may soon be changed a bit, though Avere was interested in whether he would drink blood or do whatever he had previously done to the tree.

"I took the trial of the great pillar of progress, I have learned many a thing when it comes to both battle, magic, to utility, even to going to the next rank that you must surely been keen on entering one day, though I would say that that should wait for a bit" he said, taking lead of the conversation and making sure she knew that he had somethign she desperately needed.

"And just so you know, from what I can tell" he gestured at Avere, " this guy simply grew stronger because I became a scribe, not because of his own power or understanding, so don't even try getting him, to tell you about growth and progress... at least in the current stages, I have a feeling he knows more than he's letting on..." he added on the last part to appease Avere that was still apathetic, but had to agree that Leyk was good at controlling the flow and getting what he wanted, offering a wild number of cards for her to choose, though she would probably answer with another counter to that.
