Chapter 94 - the visitor ( ch 94 )

Zarathoz slowly began to rise, as if every movement cost her… yet her laughter didn't stop.

—W-what's wrong with her…?

Luzbel spoke with difficulty, still in pain. There was something about that laughter that didn't fit, something that made her skin crawl without knowing why.

Zarathoz tilted her head slightly, glancing at her from the corner of her eye.

—Tell me, Luzi… how much of all this did you know?

Her voice was broken by small chuckles, as if every word amused her for some reason only she understood.

Luzbel clenched her teeth. She thought she had already figured it out.

Morgan had told her he wasn't from this world… that had to be it.

—The same as you.

She replied firmly, holding her gaze.

For a second, the silence stretched.

And then…

Zarathoz burst into much louder laughter.

—Really?… HAHAHA…

She brought a hand to her face, shaking her head slightly.

—So you knew…?

She took a slow step forward.

—You knew about the metal monsters?… the steel dragons that roam the skies?…

Another step.

—About those giant towers… so tall they seem to pierce the clouds?

Luzbel didn't answer.

Her expression shifted slightly. A faint doubt—but enough.

Zarathoz noticed.

Her smile widened.

—A world without other races…

she continued, lowering her voice slightly.

—only humans...

The way she said it made it sound wrong. Empty. Unnatural.

—Tell me, Luzi… did you know that too?

And then, without hurry, she turned her gaze toward Morgan.

As if everything had pointed to him from the very beginning.

Luzbel remained still.

That… she didn't know.

Morgan had told her the truth… but not all of it.

He spoke of another world, yes… but not what it was really like. Not to that extent.

Not something so… different.

Zarathoz let out a small laugh as she noticed the silence.

—I see…

Her tone changed. Softer. More controlled.

—So he didn't tell you.

Morgan looked away.

That simple gesture was enough of an answer.

Luzbel frowned, now clearly annoyed.

—What are you talking about, Zarathoz?

She took a step forward, ignoring the pain.

—What do you mean by all this?

There was tension in her voice. Not just confusion… but demand.

Zarathoz watched her in silence for a few seconds.

Then she smiled.

A small smile, but unsettling.

—Why don't you…?

She paused slightly, as if savoring the moment.

—let the visitor tell you?

She looked back at Morgan.

Fixed.

Without looking away.

The pressure in the air shifted. It grew heavier.

Luzbel immediately turned to him.

—Morgan…

Her voice was no longer firm.

—What is she talking about?… what didn't you tell me?

There was something else there now.

Urgency.

Morgan remained still.

He looked first at Luzbel.

Then at Zarathoz.

One confused.

The other… clearly satisfied.

The silence stretched longer than it should.

As if the words didn't want to come out.

Morgan lowered his gaze slightly.

And for a moment… it seemed even he didn't know where to begin.

Satana and Galahad didn't know where to look… nor what was really happening. Metal dragons? A world inhabited only by humans? Everything felt… wrong.

Their gazes, filled with doubt, ended up fixed on Morgan. They were searching for answers. An explanation. Something to make sense of it all.

Morgan understood instantly.

He felt the weight of those stares—especially Luzbel's… and Zarathoz's—and for a moment, it felt like the air left his lungs.

Even so… he took a deep breath.

He forced himself to remain steady.

He looked at Luzbel, forming a faint smile… dim, almost resigned, before speaking.

—As I already told you, Miss Luzbel… I am not from this world.

He paused briefly.

—I come from a place where only humans exist… where there are no abilities, no extraordinary creatures. A world… very different from this one.

His voice dimmed for just a second.

Morgan swallowed.

—But above all…

The silence grew heavy.

—A world where I… am just a human.
