Chapter 9 - Son Vs Father

THE SIXTH BATTLE: ANDROID 17 VS UUB

The arena was still buzzing from Roshi's fight when 17 and Uub stepped up. 17 looked like he was about to grab coffee, not fight - hands shoved in his pockets, that same bored expression he always wore. Uub was the complete opposite, bouncing around like he'd had too much caffeine.

"Easy money," 18 said, not even looking up from filing her nails.

Mr. Satan was losing his mind in the stands. "THAT'S MY BOY! SHOW 'EM WHAT THE CHAMP TAUGHT YOU!"

Goku leaned forward, eyes bright. "Man, I haven't seen Uub cut loose since we started training. This should be good."

Pan tugged on Gohan's sleeve. "Is Uncle 17 gonna be mean to Uub?"

"They're just sparring, sweetie. Like when you and I practice."

But something felt off to Future Gohan. Both their ki signatures were... weird. Like they were holding back way more than they should be.

17 rolled his shoulders. "So you're supposed to be Buu reborn or whatever? Gotta say, you don't look nearly as pink."

Uub's nervousness melted away. His stance shifted, and suddenly he looked dangerous. "Satan-sensei says never judge a book by its cover."

"Smart man. You ready?"

"Begin!"

Then... nothing. They just stood there staring at each other like idiots.

"Are they broken?" Krillin asked.

That's when they exploded into motion.

17 shot forward with a jab that could've punched through steel. Uub twisted away and came back with a palm strike. 17 deflected and threw a knee. Uub caught it, tried to sweep the other leg. 17 jumped, came down with an axe kick. Uub rolled back and fired off a quick ki blast.

Two seconds. Maybe less.

The crowd went absolutely nuts.

"Holy shit!" Yamcha yelled before catching himself. "I mean... holy cow!"

17 was actually grinning now. "Okay, that was fun. Let's see what else you got."

He started moving faster, throwing combinations that would've turned most fighters into paste. But Uub kept up, flowing around the attacks like water.

"Energy Absorption!" 17 called out, hands glowing.

But nothing happened. The energy just... stopped.

"What the hell?"

Uub smiled. "Buu's energy doesn't play nice with absorption techniques. Learned that the hard way in training."

Even Goku looked surprised. "I didn't know that was a thing!"

17 wasn't fazed. "Barrier!"

A shimmering shield popped up around him just as Uub unleashed a barrage of ki blasts. They bounced off like ping pong balls.

"My turn. Android Assault!"

17 became a blur, hitting from six different angles at once. But Uub did something crazy - he started blocking attacks that hadn't even been thrown yet.

"How's he doing that?" Trunks asked.

"Buu's Intuition," Uub said, somehow hearing him while dodging a punch to the face. "I can feel where you're gonna be before you get there."

17's eye twitched. This kid was pissing him off.

"Photon Flash!"

The arena turned into a solar flare. Everyone covered their eyes except Uub, who closed his and kept fighting by feel alone.

When 17 tried to sucker punch him through the light, Uub was ready with an uppercut that launched the android into orbit.

"Mystic Ball Attack!"

A pink energy ball shot out, moving like it had a mind of its own. It followed 17 through the air, bouncing off invisible walls, changing direction mid-flight.

17 tried everything to lose it but finally had to catch the damn thing with both hands. The impact drove him back to the ground hard enough to crack the tiles.

"That's one of Buu's moves!" Piccolo said. "How does he know that?"

"Maybe being reincarnated comes with perks?" Goku suggested.

17 crushed the energy ball and wiped blood from his lip. "Alright kid, you officially annoyed me."

His aura exploded outward. Game time.

"Power Blitz!"

17 turned into a machine gun of fists and feet. Hundreds of strikes in seconds, so fast they looked like a solid wall of attacks.

But Uub pulled another trick out of his ass.

"Rubber Body!"

His body went full Mr. Fantastic, bending and stretching around attacks that should've connected. It was disturbing to watch.

"Another Buu technique?!" Vegeta actually sounded impressed. "The boy's full of surprises."

17 was starting to sweat. His unlimited energy wasn't helping as much as usual.

"Destructo Disc Barrage!"

Golden buzzsaws flew from every direction. Not Krillin's version - these were faster, sharper, and there were way too many of them.

Uub's eyes went wide. No way to dodge them all.

"Chocolate Beam!"

A pink ray shot from his finger, hit one of the discs, and turned it into actual chocolate. It fell to the ground with a sad little thunk.

The arena went dead silent.

"Did he just..." Krillin's voice cracked. "Did he just turn my technique into candy?"

"Yep!" Goku was laughing his ass off. "Classic Buu move! I love it!"

17 stared at the chocolate disc. "You've got to be shitting me."

But Uub was already moving, turning more discs into snacks while closing the distance.

"Steam Attack!"

Pink fog poured out of Uub's mouth, filling half the arena. 17 couldn't see jack.

"What is this crap?" He was coughing, trying to wave it away.

"Sleep gas," came Uub's voice from the fog. "Another Buu special."

17 felt his eyelids getting heavy. His reflexes were slowing down.

"Absorption Barrier!"

He blew the gas away with an energy field, but he was still groggy as hell.

Uub came out of the steam like a pink-eyed demon.

"Angry Rush!"

Everything changed. Gone was the careful, defensive fighting. Now Uub was swinging like a maniac - wild haymakers, crazy angles, pure berserker rage.

17 couldn't keep up. Punches started getting through, rocking him back on his heels.

"The kid's lost it!" Tien said.

"Nah," Goku replied, still grinning. "He's channeling Buu's anger. That pink bastard hit like a truck when he was pissed."

17 tried to back up but Uub was relentless, staying right in his face with combo after combo.

"Enough!"

17's aura erupted, blowing Uub back across the arena.

"Hellzone Grenade!"

Energy balls surrounded Uub from every angle. Dozens of them, all aimed at the same spot.

"Picked that up from watching Piccolo," 17 said with a smirk.

The balls converged simultaneously. No escape.

"Body Manipulation!"

Uub's body went full liquid, stretching and contorting between the energy balls like he was made of silly putty. It was gross to watch.

"This kid's got more tricks than a Vegas magician," 17 muttered.

But he wasn't done. "Android Combo Special!"

17 started pulling techniques from everyone. Tien's Multi-Form created copies of himself. Yamcha's Wolf Fang Fist with spectral wolves. Even Goku's Instant Transmission to pop around the arena.

"How's he doing that?!" Gohan asked.

18 looked smug. "My brother's got a photographic memory. He's been studying you idiots for years."

Multiple 17s attacked from all sides, each using different fighting styles. Like fighting the whole Z-crew at once.

But Uub had one more ace.

"Majin Regeneration!"

Every hit healed instantly. Cuts sealed up, bruises vanished, even his clothes fixed themselves.

"Oh, come on!" 17 threw his hands up. "That's just cheating!"

The copies merged back together. 17 was breathing hard - copying all those techniques wasn't free.

Uub looked fresh as a daisy.

"My turn for something special," Uub said, his voice dropping an octave.

His eyes flashed pink for a split second. Everyone felt it - Majin Buu stirring inside him like a sleeping dragon.

"Majin Kamehameha!"

The beam was pink instead of blue, and it moved like it was drunk. Zigzagging through the air, completely unpredictable.

17 tried to dodge but the beam followed him like a heat-seeking missile. When it connected, the explosion was massive.

Smoke cleared to show 17 on one knee, clothes torn and smoking.

"Not... bad... kid," he panted.

But he wasn't finished. "Infinite Energy Mode!"

17's aura went supernova as he tapped directly into his power core. His eyes lit up like LEDs.

"Self-Destruct Sequence activated! Just kidding!" He grinned and launched forward with fresh speed.

The final exchange was insane. 17 running on pure artificial energy trading blows with Uub channeling Majin Buu's chaos. They moved so fast they were just streaks of light bouncing around the arena. Each impact shook the whole area.

Finally, they both went for broke.

"Final Photon Cannon!"

"Ultimate Chocolate Kamehameha!"

The beams met dead center, creating an explosion that filled the arena with smoke and debris.

When it cleared, both fighters were down. 17 was out cold near the ring's edge. Uub was barely conscious in the middle, trying to stand on shaky legs.

Piccolo raised his hand. "Winner: Uub!"

The crowd exploded. Closest fight yet, and both guys had pulled out techniques nobody knew existed.

Satan was bawling. "THAT'S MY STUDENT! I TAUGHT HIM EVERYTHING!"

18 helped her brother up. "You did good, 17. Kid's a freak of nature."

17 managed a weak smile. "Yeah... he's alright. Don't tell him I said that."

Goku was beaming. "That was incredible! Uub, I'm so proud!"

Uub finally made it to his feet, swaying like he was drunk. "Thanks, sensei. Couldn't have done it without you."

Future Gohan watched both fighters carefully. "They were both holding back until the very end. This tournament's revealing abilities we never knew existed."

The quarterfinals were set. The real fights were just getting started.

NOW INTO THE QUARTER FINALS.

SON VS FATHER.

GOKU VS GOHAN!!!!.

Goku scratched the back of his head with that goofy smile. "Well, this is awkward. Guess we're finally gonna settle who's stronger, huh Gohan?"

Gohan's face was stone serious. "Dad, I won't hold back. Not this time."

In the stands, Chi-Chi was having a breakdown. "I can't watch this! My husband and son beating each other up! This is exactly why I hate fighting!"

Goten looked confused. "But Mom, isn't this supposed to be fun?"

"Fun?! FUN?!" Chi-Chi's voice could've shattered glass.

Vegeta was practically vibrating with excitement. "Finally! I've been waiting years to see these two go all out against each other!"

Piccolo crossed his arms, looking worried. "This could get out of hand fast. Both of them have been holding back their true power for too long."

Pan was tugging on Videl's sleeve. "Mommy, why does Grandpa Goku look so serious? He's never serious."

Videl hugged her daughter. "Because sometimes even the nicest people have to fight, sweetheart."

Future Gohan was studying his alternate self intently. "He's different from me. Maybe Stronger??, but also... angrier. There's something he's been suppressing."

The announcer raised his hand. "This is it, folks! Father versus son! The legendary Goku versus the former Boy Wonder, Gohan! BEGIN!"

For a moment, neither moved. They just stared at each other, both remembering years of training together, fighting side by side, protecting each other.

Then Goku's expression shifted. The goofy smile vanished, replaced by the focused intensity of Earth's greatest warrior.

"Sorry, son. But I'm gonna give you everything I've got."

Gohan's eyes hardened. "Good. I wouldn't want it any other way."

They exploded toward each other simultaneously.

The first exchange was pure technique. No transformations, no power-ups, just raw martial arts mastery. Goku's Turtle Hermit style clashed against Gohan's hybrid fighting form that blended everything he'd learned from Piccolo, Goku, and his own experience.

"Damn," Tien whispered. "Look at them move."

They were dancing around each other, throwing combinations that would've killed normal humans. Goku's experience showed in his footwork and timing, but Gohan's natural talent was keeping him competitive.

"Eight-Armed Fist!" Goku called out, his arms moving so fast they created afterimages.

But Gohan had seen this before. "Masenko Barrier!"

A golden energy shield deflected the flurry of strikes while Gohan countered with a knee that barely missed Goku's ribs.

"Nice one!" Goku laughed, actually enjoying himself. "But try this! Meteor Combination!"

Goku's fighting style completely changed, becoming unpredictable and wild. Punches came from impossible angles, kicks that defied physics.

Gohan gritted his teeth, struggling to keep up. His dad was holding back way less than usual.

"Special Beam Cannon!" Gohan fired Piccolo's signature move, the spiraling beam cutting through the air.

Goku twisted out of the way at the last second. "Whoa! That was close! Solar Flare!"

The arena filled with blinding light. When it cleared, Goku was gone.

"Afterimage Technique!" came his voice from everywhere at once.

Dozens of Goku copies surrounded Gohan, all moving independently. But Gohan closed his eyes and reached out with his senses.

"There!" He spun and threw a punch that connected with the real Goku, dispelling all the afterimages.

Goku rubbed his jaw, grinning. "Your ki sensing got better. Alright, time to get serious."

His hair flashed gold. "Super Saiyan!"

Gohan responded instantly. "Super Saiyan!"

The arena shook as both warriors powered up. Their golden auras clashed, creating winds that rattled the entire building.

Yamcha yelled. "Even their base Super Saiyan forms are insane!"

The second round was faster, harder, more brutal. Super Saiyan speed meant their movements were barely visible to most of the audience.

Goku came in with a Kamehameha wave that Gohan deflected with his bare hands, redirecting it into the sky where it disappeared into the clouds.

"Masenko!" Gohan fired back, the golden beam crackling with electricity.

Goku punched straight through it, the energy parting around his fist like water. But that was exactly what Gohan wanted.

"Gotcha! Explosive Wave!"

The attack erupted from Gohan's body in all directions. Goku got caught in the blast, sent flying backward into the arena wall.

But he was laughing as he pulled himself out of the crater. "That's my boy! You set me up perfectly!"

"I learned from the best," Gohan said, but his smile was grim. "Dad, why does it feel like you're still holding back?"

Goku's expression grew serious. "Because I am. And so are you."

The golden auras around both fighters suddenly spiked higher.

"Super Saiyan 2!"

Lightning started crackling around their bodies as they ascended to the next level. The power was so intense that chunks of the arena floor began lifting into the air.

"Jesus Christ!" Krillin grabbed onto his chair as the entire building shook. "They're gonna bring the whole place down!"

Master Roshi adjusted his sunglasses. "No, they're just getting started."

SSJ2 Goku moved like lightning itself. His punches created sonic booms, his kicks split the air. But SSJ2 Gohan was right there with him, matching him blow for blow.

"Dragon Fist!" Goku's punch created a golden dragon of energy that roared toward Gohan.

"Double Masenko!" Gohan fired two beams simultaneously, one from each hand. They spiraled around each other and met the dragon head-on.

The explosion cracked every window in the city that was very far way. When the smoke cleared, both fighters were breathing hard.

"This is incredible!" Future Trunks said, amazed. "They're both so much stronger than I remember!"

But Vegeta was frowning. "Something's wrong. Gohan should be dominating at this level. His SSJ2 was always his strongest form."

As if hearing him, Gohan suddenly stumbled. His aura flickered.

"What's wrong, son?" Goku asked, concerned.

Gohan wiped blood from his mouth. "I don't know. Ever since Cell, my Super Saiyan 2 hasn't felt the same. Like there's something blocking it."

Goku's eyes widened in understanding. "The peaceful years. You've been suppressing your rage for so long, you can't access its full power anymore."

"Maybe," Gohan said, standing straight. "But I've got something else now."

His golden aura vanished, replaced by a white glow that seemed to make the air itself hum with power.

"Mystic form," Piccolo breathed. "His ultimate power."

But Goku wasn't done either. "Super Saiyan 3!"

His hair grew down to his waist, his brow ridge became more pronounced, and his aura turned into a raging golden inferno that made the previous transformations look like candle flames.

"Now we're talking!" Goku's voice was deeper, more primal.

The clash between SSJ3 Goku and Mystic Gohan was on a completely different level. They moved so fast they were just streaks of light bouncing around the arena. Each impact created shockwaves that could be felt for miles.

"Kamehameha!"

"Masenko!"

The beams met in the center of the arena, creating a sphere of pure energy that grew larger and larger. Both fighters poured more power into their attacks, neither willing to give ground.

Android 18 yelled over the noise. "They're gonna kill each other!"

The energy sphere suddenly collapsed, creating a massive explosion that completely destroyed the arena ground. Both fighters were thrown backward, crashing into opposite walls.

For a moment, there was silence except for the sound of falling debris.

Then Goku started laughing. "Haha! This is the best fight I've had in years!"

Vegeta reacted ''W-what do you mean kakarot!!! you just fought me some months ago?!!''

But something was wrong with Gohan. He was clutching his chest, his mystic aura flickering unstably.

"The strain," he gasped. "My body's not used to maintaining this form during extended combat."

Goku's expression grew serious. "Gohan, we can stop if you want. This is just a tournament."

"No!" Gohan's aura flared back to full strength. "I need this, Dad. I need to push past my limits!"

That's when Goku made a decision that shocked everyone.

"Kaioken times ten!"

His already massive SSJ3 aura turned red around the edges. The power was so intense that the ground beneath his feet turned to glass.

Vegeta shot to his feet. "Finaly, now lets see what happens"

SSJ3 Kaioken x10 Goku was a force of nature. He moved faster than thought itself, each punch carrying the force of a meteor impact.

Gohan was getting overwhelmed. Even in Mystic form, he couldn't keep up with this level of speed and power.

"Final Flash!" He borrowed Vegeta's technique, firing a massive golden beam.

But Goku punched straight through it and appeared in front of Gohan in an instant.

"Meteor Smash!"

The punch sent Gohan flying across what was left of the arena. He hit the wall so hard that cracks spread up to the ceiling.

Blood trickled from Gohan's mouth as he struggled to stand. "More. I need more power."

That's when something clicked in his mind. A conversation with Piccolo years ago about pushing past limits, about combining techniques that shouldn't work together.

"Kaioken," he whispered.

"What?" Goku paused his advance.

"KAIOKEN TIMES THREE!"

Gohan's mystic aura exploded outward, now tinted with red energy. The combination was unstable, crackling with chaotic power, but it was working.

"Impossible!" Vegeta's jaw dropped. "He's combining Mystic with Kaioken! That technique was designed for base form only!"

Mystic Kaioken x3 Gohan was back in the fight. He moved like a blur, his increased speed allowing him to land hits on his father for the first time since the SSJ3 transformation.

"That's my son!" Goku laughed, even as he took a punch to the gut that made him double over. "Always finding new ways to surprise me!"

But the strain was showing on both fighters. Goku's SSJ3 Kaioken combination was burning through his energy at an incredible rate. Gohan's new technique was tearing his body apart from the inside.

"This has to end soon," Piccolo said grimly. "They're both gonna collapse."

As if reading his mind, Goku's aura suddenly spiked even higher.

"Kaioken times forty!"

The red energy around his golden aura intensified. His power was so massive now that the air itself was distorting around him.

"Dad, stop!" Gohan yelled. "Your body can't take that!"

But Goku was beyond listening. The combination of SSJ3 and high-level Kaioken was affecting his mind, making him more aggressive, more primal.

"Angry Kamehameha!"

The beam that erupted from his hands was tinted red and moved with savage intensity. It carved a trench through the arena floor as it roared toward Gohan.

Gohan barely managed to dodge, the beam passing so close it singed his gi.

"My turn! Ultimate Masenko!"

Gohan's beam was a swirling combination of gold and red energy, chaotic but incredibly powerful.

The two attacks met in midair, creating another massive explosion. But this time, Goku's overwhelming power advantage won out. His Kamehameha pushed through Gohan's Masenko and sent the young Saiyan flying.

Gohan hit a mountain and slumped to the ground, his mystic aura finally giving out.

"Gohan!" Chi-Chi screamed from the stands.

But as Goku approached, something incredible happened. Gohan's eyes snapped open, and they were burning with an intensity nobody had seen since the Cell Games.

"I'm not done yet," he said quietly.

His aura exploded back to life, but now it was different. The mystic power and Kaioken weren't just combined - they were perfectly balanced, working in harmony instead of fighting each other.

"Mystic Kaioken," he whispered, standing up slowly.

The power radiating from him was incredible. For a moment, even SSJ3 Kaioken x40 Goku paused.

"That's impossible," Future Gohan breathed. "He figured out how to stabilize the combination in the middle of combat."

The final exchange was beyond description. Father and son, both pushed far beyond their normal limits, trading blows that shook the very foundations of earth.

But Goku had one more card to play.

"Kaioken times one hundred!"

His aura became a raging inferno of red and gold. Bigger than a entire building, The power was so intense that his body was smoking, his muscles straining against forces that should have torn him apart.

"FINAL KAMEHAMEHA!"

It wasn't just a Kamehameha wave. It was every technique Goku had ever learned, compressed into a single devastating attack. The beam was so powerful it seemed to bend reality around it.

Gohan's eyes widened. There was no dodging this. No blocking it. This attack would kill him.

But at the last second, something impossible happened. Goku yanked his hands to the side, redirecting the beam into the sky where it disappeared into space.

The backlash from stopping such a powerful attack mid-flight sent Goku crashing to his knees, his transformations finally giving out. He collapsed to the ground.

Gohan stared in shock, his own power fading as the adrenaline wore off, he felt uncouncius of using the mystic kaioken.

Piccolo raised his hand shakily. "Winner... Goku."

Gohan's eyes fluttered open, and he smiled weakly. "Hey dad. You did great."

The crowd was going absolutely insane. They'd just witnessed the most incredible fight in tournament history.

"THAT'S MY HUSBAND AND SON!" Chi-Chi was crying and cheering at the same time.

Vegeta was speechless for once in his life. The level of power both fighters had displayed was beyond anything he'd imagined possible.

"Gohan," Goku said as they helped each other stand. "Promise me something."

"What?"

"Don't ever stop training. You've got potential I can't even comprehend. Today proved that."

Gohan nodded, tears in his eyes. "Thanks, Dad. For everything."

As they walked off the destroyed arena together, Future Gohan watched his alternate self with new respect.

The semifinals were set, but everyone knew that whatever came next would be hard-pressed to top what they'd just witnessed.

The father-son battle had become the stuff of legends.
