After resting at home for a night, the next day, Monday, Ichin needed to go to the Shanghai branch of the company.
After a year of development, the Shanghai side had recruited another batch of employees. Aside from maintaining and updating Apex and Titanfall, they had also begun preparing to develop a new game.
It was another battle royale type project.
After learning the initial concept of the proposal, Ichin did not stop them. Instead, he told the team to continue refining every aspect of the plan, and once he arrived in July, everyone would hold a meeting together to discuss it in detail.
After breakfast, Utaha did not go with him. She planned to accompany her mother-in-law to buy groceries. Ichin's father went to drink tea with friends, so the ones heading to the company were Ichin, Haruno, Yukino, and Eriri.
Driving out of the residential complex, Ichin glanced in the rearview mirror and saw Eriri still yawning.
"Did you sleep very late last night?" he asked with a smile.
Eriri nodded. "I was playing on my phone and forgot the time."
"Eriri really has great energy," Haruno said with a laugh. "I went to sleep pretty early last night, around ten, I think. Yukino was about the same, right?"
Yukino was sitting in the front passenger seat. Hearing Haruno's words, she replied, "I had a video call with Nene last night to check on the cats at home, and then I went to sleep. Around eleven."
Turning the steering wheel to the right, Ichin said with a smile, "Then you should rest well today. Did you not already book your tickets to leave for Guizhou tomorrow morning?"
After dinner yesterday, everyone had sat in the living room eating fruit while discussing where to travel next. In the end, they decided on Guizhou, and even Ichin's parents decided to join the trip.
It was a little unfortunate though. Originally, Utaha's parents could have come along as well, but her father suddenly had urgent matters at his company and could not leave. They would have to wait until the Spring Festival to visit again.
Ichin himself had never been to Guizhou before and was quite curious. Unfortunately, he would have plenty of company matters to handle these next few days, so he could only give up the idea of traveling and focus on work.
With his parents accompanying them on the trip, however, he felt much more at ease.
As for staying behind alone, Ichin had no problem with it. When he returned this time, his intention had always been to let everyone else enjoy themselves while he focused on work.
Leaning forward from the back seat and holding onto the driver's seat, Haruno smiled.
"Ichin, are you really not coming along with us on the trip?"
"Did I not already say it?" Ichin replied. "I have to work. The new project here is still in the preparation stage, and I have not visited the Shanghai office for quite a while. There are definitely many things to handle. I do not have that much time for fun. Even the class reunion at noon today took some thought before I agreed to it."
"Sigh… what a pity."
After saying that regretfully, Haruno reached forward and patted Ichin's head.
"Do not worry. We will bring you back some delicious food!"
"Alright. Then I will look forward to it, Haruno-nee."
They soon arrived at the company. Looking at the office building where the company was located, Ichin could not help but smile with some emotion.
"The space here is gradually becoming insufficient. By next year, we will probably need to move to a new office location. Or maybe see if we can rent an additional floor above or below."
In this business park, many companies were internet firms. Each one developed differently, and the era of reckless expansion had long passed. If a company wanted to grow now, every condition had to be in place.
Standing beside him, Haruno smiled and said, "Renting a suitable office space here must cost quite a bit, right?"
Ichin nodded. "It is indeed expensive, but with the company's current revenue, it is still within acceptable limits and does not exceed our projected operating costs. Alright, let us head up."
The office had already received notice that the big boss would be arriving today.
However, since the person in charge here knew Ichin's personality well, they did not make any special preparations. Everyone continued working as usual.
The receptionist had not changed. When she saw Ichin step out of the elevator, she immediately sent a message to the management inside and personally led him into the company.
As for Haruno and Yukino, the employees all recognized them as well. After all, they were also shareholders of the company.
Even Umiko, who had previously led the development of Apex here, was a shareholder. Although her shares were relatively small, her actual influence in the company was not any less than Haruno's or Yukino's.
Under Ichin's management, no one without ability could reach a management position. People like Umiko, Kou Yagami, and Hazuki and the others all had impressive achievements and had demonstrated their abilities. They also possessed strong leadership within their teams and could manage things well even when Ichin was not present.
As for Eriri, most people here had not met her before. Although she was also a shareholder, she had not invested as much as Haruno and Yukino. Most of the time, she simply worked as a top-level artist within the company.
What the Shanghai staff did not know, however, was that this soft-looking girl was actually a young lady from a wealthy family.
After walking around for a while, Ichin finally met the person in charge of the Shanghai branch again after a long time. Without wasting any time, he immediately called over the main leaders of the new project and began the morning meeting.
Tomorrow, he would also have to hold a meeting with all the staff, chatting with the newly joined employees and listening to their thoughts and experiences working here.
While Ichin was in the meeting, Haruno and the others had nothing to do. There was still quite some time before the class reunion at noon.
Eriri was fine. There were plenty of girls in the art department, so she simply went over to join them.
After sitting in the office for a while, Yukino asked, "Sister, would you like some coffee? I will go make some."
"Sure, thank you Yukino~~~"
Yukino left the office and went to the pantry, where she happened to see a girl from the HR department brewing coffee.
After asking about it and learning that it was meant to be sent to the meeting room, Yukino simply took over the task.
Once the coffee was ready, she first delivered a cup to Haruno, then carried the rest directly to the meeting room.
When Ichin saw that the person entering was Yukino, he looked surprised for a moment before laughing.
"How is this just like when we were in Tokyo?"
Yukino carried the coffee in and smiled.
"I happened to see it being made. I was not doing anything anyway, so I brought it over."
The other company managers accepted the coffee she handed to them with flustered gratitude. After all, this was one of the company's major shareholders.
Handing a cup to Ichin, Yukino leaned closer and quietly said, "I will go back to the office then. Do not forget the time while you are in the meeting. We still have something at noon."
"Okay, okay. I will not forget."
