Banner subconsciously sensed that the situation wouldn't be nearly as straightforward as it appeared. "Is that really how this works? You believe that killing Surtur will actually prevent Ragnarok from occurring?"
Wanda nodded gravely, indicating her agreement with Banner's cautious assessment. Many ancient prophecies often follow extremely convoluted and unpredictable paths, but they inevitably lead to their predetermined outcomes regardless of interference!
Unless an extraordinarily powerful cosmic entity intervenes directly, even the most determined efforts to alter powerful prophecies prove futile. As this thought crossed her mind, she couldn't help but glance upward at the sky screen. In her mystical understanding, the cosmic projection represented a supreme existence beyond mortal comprehension.
"Regardless of the complications! Eliminating this fire giant! It should at least delay Ragnarok's arrival! That has to count for something!"
Thor shrugged his shoulders with characteristic confidence and resolved that after returning to Asgard, he would immediately locate the fire giant and remove his crown before addressing any other concerns!
Mysterio observed Thor's transparent thought processes, patted him reassuringly on the shoulder and advised: "Don't worry about jumping ahead! Be patient and observe the complete sky screen sequence!"
Thor nodded somewhat absentmindedly: "Right, of course!"
[As Surtur approached Thor's suspended position, the God of Thunder felt the scorching heat radiating from the fire giant and couldn't help but frown against the overwhelming temperature.]
[Surtur grasped the chain restraining Thor, pulled him upward, and brought his massive burning head close to his captive.]
["I am the inevitable end of Asgard! And you will share that fate! Everything will be utterly ruined forever! Everything will burn in eternal flames!"]
[Thor regarded him with an expression that remained completely unchanged, even displaying a slight smile across his features.]
["Oh! This sounds absolutely thrilling! Honestly, I'm genuinely looking forward to witnessing you transform into a mountain-sized fire giant and incinerate the entire realm!"]
["But I do need to establish a backup plan! I'm going to break free from these restraints and chisel that ridiculous crown off your head! Then lock it securely in Asgard's deepest treasury vault!"]
[Surtur dismissed his bold words and responded with calm certainty: "You cannot stop Ragnarok! Why aren't you surrendering to inevitability?"]
["Because that's exactly what heroes do!" Thor silently opened his hands behind his back and began summoning Mjolnir, but his confident smile disappeared immediately when the mystical hammer failed to fly into his grasp on command.]
[Surtur observed him with growing confusion at this unexpected delay.]
["Wait just a moment! My apologies! I miscalculated the timing!"]
[Surtur suddenly realized that something was approaching their location at tremendous velocity.]
[Thor's face brightened with renewed confidence: "Now we're talking!"]
[With a thunderous rumbling sound, Mjolnir crashed through the stone barrier and flew directly toward Thor's position.]
[Before Surtur could formulate any response, Thor shattered his restraining chains completely, grasped the incoming Mjolnir with practiced ease, and flew to safety, landing smoothly on solid ground.]
[Surtur immediately retrieved his massive greatsword from its resting position.]
["You have made a grave and fatal mistake! Son of Odin!"]
[Thor appeared completely nonchalant about the fire giant's threatening words: "Making catastrophic mistakes is part of my daily routine!"
He had advanced only two steps forward when a hideous demonic creature suddenly emerged from the pitch-black cavern depths and released a bone-chilling roar in his direction.
Thor regarded the monster without displaying any concern whatsoever. Instead, he smiled with anticipation and declared: "It appears everything is perfectly settled!"
Surtur remained stationary, observing Thor with silent intensity, while countless fire giants rushed forth from the shadowy depths behind him.
Thor pulverized the fastest approaching enemy with a single hammer blow, then destroyed another advancing threat with a devastating backhand strike.]
[A massive wave of fire giants rushed toward his position, attempting to overwhelm him through sheer numbers and subdue him through coordinated assault.]
[However, in the next instant, Thor sent the attacking fire giants flying through the air, effortlessly disposing of multiple enemies with casual efficiency.]
[Thor observed the continuously increasing number of adversaries and began spinning Mjolnir with devastating purpose.]
[Every fire giant that dared to approach was struck by the incredibly powerful Mjolnir and immediately transformed into piles of smoldering rubble.]
[Under the overwhelming might of the enchanted hammer, none of the numerous fire giants could approach Thor's defensive perimeter.
After spinning the weapon for several rotations, Thor decided the pace was insufficiently rapid and simply released the hammer into flight.
Mjolnir circled around him through the air, systematically crushing every enemy that attempted to rush his position. Occasionally, one or two opponents escaped the hammer's devastating path, but Thor easily knocked them unconscious with simple punches.
After dispatching several more enemies with casual strikes, Thor extended his hand, and the high-velocity Mjolnir immediately ceased its circular motion and returned to his grasp.]
[As the hammer flew back to its master, it obliterated all remaining fire giants along its trajectory until it settled perfectly in Thor's waiting hands.]
[Thor, having reclaimed his weapon, immediately struck down an enemy who had been preparing to attack him from behind, sending the unfortunate fire giant flying across the cavern.]
[The hellhound Garm, restrained by mystical chains, roared with furious anger, but remained unable to break free and join the assault against Thor.]
[Thor surveyed the surrounding enemy forces, leaped high into the air, and channeled lightning energy through Mjolnir's enchanted surface.]
[He released a thunderous battle cry and slammed his hammer with tremendous force against the rocky ground, annihilating the fire giants that were charging toward his position.]
[Even Surtur, who had been observing the battle from his elevated position, was forced backward several steps by the overwhelming energy release.]
[Enraged by this display of power, he immediately raised his sword, causing massive amounts of flame to emerge from the weapon's crimson tip and streak toward Thor's position.]
[Thor swung Mjolnir with incredible speed, creating an energy barrier to deflect Surtur's devastating flame attack.]
[Surtur's flames burned with intense ferocity and demonstrated no signs of diminishing. Soon perspiration appeared on Thor's forehead due to the extreme temperatures he was enduring.
Thor continued spinning his hammer defensively to resist the assault, but found himself being pushed backward by the overwhelming force.
This tactical disadvantage irritated Thor considerably. He released a defiant shout and charged directly through the wall of flames toward Surtur's position.]
[Surtur immediately ceased his flamethrower attack upon witnessing this bold maneuver, raising his greatsword to intercept Thor's advance.]
[Unfortunately for the fire giant, Thor moved faster than anticipated and disrupted his attack with a devastating hammer blow, then struck him again while airborne without any pause.]
[Two consecutive crushing impacts caused Surtur to stumble backward, the massive sword in his grasp dragging helplessly across the ground.]
[After Thor landed gracefully, he threw his hammer without hesitation and struck Surtur directly in the face.]
[After catching the rebounding Mjolnir, he leaped decisively into the air, released a thunderous roar, and brought the hammer crashing down on Surtur's crown.
Surtur, who had been preparing to raise his sword for a counterattack, found his movement immediately interrupted by Thor's assault. He lowered his flaming weapon and retreated two steps.
Thor seized this tactical advantage and, after landing, delivered a series of decisive hammer strikes to Surtur's midsection, forcing the fire giant into continuous retreat.
Surtur finally managed to recover his composure, raised his sword with renewed determination, and slashed toward Thor with devastating intent.]
[However, Thor nimbly leaped onto a nearby stone pillar and completely avoided the attack.]
[Surtur turned his massive head to track his opponent's movement, only to witness Thor launching himself through the air with Mjolnir raised for a final decisive blow.]
