Chapter 438 - Chapter 438: The Target Goes Crazy

"What an incredible weapon! Even the Hulk, with all his incredible strength, can't lift Thor's hammer."

"No wonder Loki couldn't get up after this hammer was placed on him back in New Mexico."

"How does this enchantment work? It doesn't look particularly heavy, but somehow it's completely immovable. If it was just about weight, Loki would have been crushed to death long ago."

"It has to be magic, right? That's absolutely fascinating!"

Although they had witnessed many people unable to lift Mjolnir before, some viewers still believed that with sufficient physical strength, anyone could manage it. However, seeing even the Hulk fail to budge the enchanted weapon sparked intense discussion about the true nature of its power.

[In the command center of the helicarrier]

[Director Nick Fury called out to Agent Hill as she hurried past with urgent reports: "Hill! Pass the word - full evacuation protocol! Get all non-essential personnel to the escape pods!"]

[Hill nodded and began moving toward the communications station when suddenly a small metallic object rolled across the deck plating. Her eyes widened as she recognized the distinctive shape.]

[She barely had time to shout a warning: "Grenade! Everyone down!"]

[The explosive detonated with a deafening blast, and the concussion wave hurled Hill over the command center railing. She crashed heavily onto the deck below, momentarily stunned by the impact.]

[Director Fury immediately drew his sidearm and aimed it toward the command center entrance, then quickly moved to a tactical position behind cover, waiting silently for the infiltrators to reveal themselves.]

[Two heavily armed Hydra operatives entered the command center in tactical formation, sweeping the area with their weapons. They failed to notice the SHIELD Director concealed in the shadows behind them.]

[After the point man moved past his position, Fury emerged from cover and grabbed the rifle barrel of the second operative, driving his elbow into the man's solar plexus before pivoting to shoot the lead attacker.]

[Even though the operative was wearing body armor, the kinetic impact of the rounds knocked him off his feet. Fury used this opportunity to complete his takedown of the man he was grappling with.]

[He then struck the first attacker in the face with the rifle butt as he tried to regain his footing, sending him sprawling again. Just as Fury was finishing off the second operative, a third Hydra soldier appeared unexpectedly in the doorway with his weapon raised.]

[Fortunately, Agent Hill had recovered enough to draw her sidearm and eliminate the threat with precise shots, saving Fury's life in the process.]

[Meanwhile, Agent Coulson reached the armory door and input his authorization codes. As the heavy security door cycled open, an emergency broadcast echoed throughout the ship: "Security breach! Hostile forces have infiltrated SHIELD facilities! All personnel, man your battle stations! This is not a drill!"]

[The sounds of combat echoed through the ship's corridors as Thor and Hulk's battle crashed through the deck plating, taking their fight to the lower levels while Fury continued engaging the enemies who had breached the command center.]

[A tactical officer called out over the noise: "Sir! Thor and Hulk have breached into the R&D section on deck four! We've lost visual monitoring on decks two and three!"]

[Hearing this update, Hill turned toward Fury and shouted over the sounds of combat: "Director! If Hulk continues his rampage, he'll compromise the entire ship's structural integrity!"]

[Fury dove behind cover as enemy fire peppered his position and called back: "Then we need to give him a new target! Redirect his attention!"]

[Hill immediately crouched behind the tactical console and keyed her comm: "Fighter escort Six-Zero, vector to the research laboratories! Engage the hostile target! Maintain safe distance - do not attempt close-range engagement!"]

[The pilot's voice crackled back through the comm: "Six-Zero copies! Moving to intercept!"]

[The F-35 fighter flying escort alongside the massive helicarrier banked sharply and reduced altitude to the designated coordinates. The pilot removed his helmet visor for better visibility and could clearly observe Hulk grabbing Thor and hurling him across the laboratory space.]

["Target acquired and locked!" The pilot announced as he watched Hulk advancing menacingly toward the fallen Thor. He squeezed the trigger and unleashed a sustained burst from his 20mm cannon.]

[Armor-piercing rounds hammered into Hulk's back and shoulders, but the bullets simply flattened against his nearly invulnerable skin without causing any visible damage.]

[Sensing the attack from behind, Hulk turned toward the fighter aircraft, shielded his face with one massive forearm, and began advancing toward the source of the gunfire with obvious hostile intent.]

[Then he released a thunderous roar, broke into a sprint, and launched himself directly at the fighter with a tremendous leap that carried him hundreds of feet through the air.]

["Target is going berserk! Repeat, target is going berserk!" The pilot's voice rose in panic as Hulk landed heavily on the aircraft's nose cone, his claws digging into the reinforced titanium hull.]

[Despite the continued machine gun fire, Hulk began systematically tearing the fighter apart with his bare hands, ripping off sections of the cockpit canopy and wing assemblies.]

[The aircraft began spinning uncontrollably as its aerodynamics were compromised. Within seconds, Hulk had torn away one of the main wings, sending the fighter into an unrecoverable flat spin.]

[Recognizing the imminent crash, the pilot immediately pulled his ejection handle, but Hulk's reflexes were faster than human technology. The green giant grabbed the ejection seat as it fired and hurled it away from the disintegrating aircraft.]

[Fortunately, the pilot's parachute deployed successfully and he drifted safely toward the ocean below, but Hulk wasn't as fortunate. The fighter's fuel tanks detonated moments later, and the massive explosion launched Hulk away from the aircraft debris field.]

"Incredible! He survived a fall from that altitude! Hulk's durability is absolutely phenomenal!"

After witnessing Hulk being blown away by the explosion, 2nd Generation Spider-Man shook his head in amazement. The altitude had to be at least several thousand feet above the ground.

"If any of us fell from that height without web-lines to swing on, we'd be instantly killed on impact!"

Gwen was equally impressed by Hulk's incredible resilience. It explained why Banner had tried so desperately to eliminate his alter ego but had never succeeded.

"You're not going to be falling from anywhere near that height!" Helen rolled her eyes at her daughter's comment.

"Sorry, Mom!" Gwen stuck out her tongue sheepishly.

"That pilot was overconfident! He thought maintaining a distance of twenty or thirty meters would keep him safe. He completely underestimated Hulk's jumping ability and agility."

George set down his hot cocoa and began putting on his police uniform, nodding approvingly at the pilot's survival skills despite the tactical error.

"Don't be late for school, Peter!" He reminded 2nd Generation Spider-Man before heading out for his shift.

Recently, 2nd Generation Spider-Man had been arriving at Gwen's house early each morning so they could travel to school together via web-swinging, since her house was conveniently located along his route.

[Back at Engine Three, Tony used his suit's precision laser array to cut through a massive piece of debris that was blocking the turbine assembly. He ejected the depleted energy core from his chest reactor and performed a controlled jump to land on the large section of twisted metal.]

[At that moment, two more Hydra operatives discovered the engine repair site. Captain America, positioned at the control station above, was initially uncertain about their identities and intentions.]

[When he saw one of the soldiers produce a fragmentation grenade, he immediately recognized the threat to both Tony and the critical engine repairs.]

[As soon as they released the grenade, Captain America vaulted over the railing and intercepted the explosive device in mid-air, slapping it away from the engine assembly before it could detonate and cause further damage.]

[He landed hard on the platform and immediately engaged the first operative with a devastating right cross. The second soldier attempted to bring his assault rifle to bear, but Captain America anticipated the move and delivered a powerful kick that sent the weapon spinning away before following up with a takedown that sent the operative crashing to the deck.]

[The first soldier recovered and attempted to engage Captain America in hand-to-hand combat, but how could an ordinary mercenary hope to match the enhanced abilities and combat training of a super-soldier?]

[Within moments, Captain America had overwhelmed his opponent with a combination of strikes and throws that sent the man plummeting over the edge of the platform. The operative's terrified scream faded as he disappeared into the clouds far below.]

[Just then, a third Hydra soldier arrived and opened fire with automatic weapons. Captain America immediately rolled behind cover to avoid the incoming rounds, then grabbed a section of metal debris and hurled it with superhuman strength.]

[While his opponent ducked behind the doorframe for cover, Cap used his enhanced agility to leap up to the maintenance corridor above. He retrieved the fallen assault rifle and began returning fire while tactically advancing toward the red emergency lever that Tony had indicated.]

[Back in the command center, Director Fury eliminated another enemy operative with precise marksmanship and called out in confusion: "These aren't random terrorists! They know exactly where they're going! What's their primary objective?"]

[At that moment, Hawkeye appeared on the upper observation deck, his presence undetected until he fired an explosive arrow that eliminated several SHIELD agents in a devastating blast. He immediately nocked another specialized arrow to his bowstring.]

[As he prepared to fire his third shot, Fury tracked the arrow trajectories and spotted the archer's position. The two men locked eyes across the command center, and Hawkeye immediately fired his special arrow directly at the main data access terminal.]

[Director Fury didn't have time to analyze the implications and fired several rounds at the compromised agent, but Hawkeye's superior positioning allowed him to evade the gunfire. His mission was already accomplished - the arrow had found its target and was now interfacing with the ship's central computer systems.]
