Chapter 77: Kain's Decision
Kain was standing at the side of the ruined stronghold, look out at what remained of his territory.
The land was destroyed from battle. The walls that once protected them were now nothing but rubble, and the scent of smoke still filled in the air.
His pack what was left of ithad begun to rebuild. Wolves moved through the broken city, repairing what they could, trying to reclaim a sense of normalcy.
But Kain was not sure if he could. Because for the first time in his life, he was not even sure if he wanted to.
A voice broke through his thoughts.
"You are brooding on it again."
Kain turned to see Lucia standing behind him, arms crossed, a knowing smirk on her lips.
"I am thinking." He breath out, shaking his head.
"Same thing." Lucia arched a brow.
Kain let out a quiet chuckle but did not even try to argue.
"What happens now?" Lucia walked beside him, following his eyes over the ruined land.
