Chapter 9
The man continued groaning under Lucia's grip, struggling to breathe as her hands pressed very firmly on his chest.
His bitter smile sent a chill down her spine as he let out his confession:
"Dante... Dante sent me. I'm from his pack. I was supposed to eliminate Kain."
Lucia's heart was pounding in her chest, her mind was moving with the implications of his words.
She grabbed him more tightly, her voice was sharp.
"Why? Why does Dante want Kain dead? What does he gain from all of this?"
"You think... you are safe with him?" he spat.
"Kain is not a saint. You don't even know half of what he has done."
The man coughed, his face was filled with pain.
Before Lucia could respond, a shadow covered her, and Kain pulled the man up by the collar with a very strong force that made her even move back.
His expression was very dark, his eyes were burning with a very dangerous light.
