Su Yan halted his pace and turned his head to look at her.
In the dimly lit corridor, he lowered his head, she raised hers, and their eyes met. Amid the silence, the motion-sensor light went out.
Clutching her shimmering eyes in the dark, Su Yan said with a tone neither warm nor cold, "What would you do if it was you?"
She was startled, a question she had never contemplated before.
There had never been a girlfriend by Uncle's side, and she had taken his company for granted, thinking it would always be there.
It was only at this moment that she suddenly realized, Uncle was in his twenties, he might find a woman, have children, and perhaps her presence was somewhat superfluous?
If there were other women by his side, would she then be driven away?
As these thoughts filled her head, her eyes couldn't help but moisten, and then with a choked voice she said, "...I don't want you to get a girlfriend."
