Mei Xiang stared at him, "Why did you let Reina leave early on the day my father met with trouble?"
Watanabe's eyes flickered, "She's an adult and your stepmother. Do you think she would just leave because I told her to? Do I have that much control?"
Mei Xiang saw this subtle reaction and was even more convinced of her thoughts.
"Of course, you can control her." She paused, "She has already told me everything about what's going on between you two."
Watanabe's mouth curved slightly, already knowing he couldn't escape jail, but if he could drag someone down with him, he would, "My affair with her? You're grasping at straws."
"Mei Xiang, we need evidence for everything. Call her here, and I can confront her face to face."
