"Mom, what are we having for lunch today?"
Xiangyang's little sister tugged on her mom's clothes, looking up at her with curiosity.
"There are plenty of leftovers from last night. I'll heat them up for lunch, and when your dad gets home from work tonight, I'll cook something new for you all."
Xiangyang's mom replied gently. As she spoke, the little son in her arms suddenly began to struggle with all his limbs, fussing as he tried to get down and walk.
The child was only a year old and still unsteady on his feet. She wanted to hold him a bit longer, but he was stubborn. Reluctantly, she carefully set him down on the ground.
To prevent him from falling, she had to bend over, keeping her hands protectively beside him, following closely.
After just a few steps, she felt an aching in her waist and abdomen, and her daughter kept urging, "Mom, hurry up, I want to go home and watch cartoons!"
It was clear how challenging and taxing it was for one person to look after two kids.
