Battle is one of the most effective means to promote a Martial Artist's progress, but almost no Postnatal peak Martial Artist will choose to break through to Innate in combat; even if there are such cases, they're forced by desperation. The barrier between Postnatal and Innate is the governor and conception vessels. Once broken through, one can communicate with the world's primal qi, absorb the Heaven and Earth's Vast Qi into the body, wash the marrow and solidify the foundation so that the entire body is filled with Vast Qi—that is Innate.
