All the positions against the walls here were lined with shelves, which Mountain Eagle had recently restocked with various tools and materials.
On either side of the living room were two large rooms, one of which looked like a tool room, and the other had been partitioned into two smaller rooms with wooden boards. The attic upstairs was where Old Ruby and his son usually rested.
Mountain Eagle didn't consider himself a finicky person, and it was clear that Old Ruby had made a heartfelt effort to tidy up. He could tolerate dirt and disorder, but the stench was unbearable.
As soon as Mountain Eagle stepped into the cabin under Old Ruby's lead, he almost tripped over from the smell inside.
Cooking in winter was done inside the cabin, and the immense soot had blackened and greased what seemed to be the living area...
This was a normal occurrence, but even though the tool room on the right side of the living room had been tidied up, it still occasionally emitted a foul stench.
