Shu Yi had a somewhat awkward relationship with his father. They were used to clashing, but when it came to serious matters, if his father wanted to meet him, Shu Yi wouldn't refuse.
In the familiar secret room, Shu Yi found his father with ease. He had already heard the familiar footsteps. His father was still drinking tea, exuding an air of calm and composure.
"You're here?"
"Or did you expect to see a ghost?"
Though in a formal setting, the opening was full of tension.
"You brat, I told you to make friends outside and not get into trouble, but your temper only gets worse. Don't want to talk to me, or you don't want to return to the Shu Family?"
Shu Yi had already anticipated being scolded as soon as he returned and was mentally prepared for it. Still, he found his father's temper a bit hard to bear.
"How could I not, seeing as Father is so supportive of me and my friends? I love coming home. Don't you feel my eagerness to return?"
