Natsume lay sprawled across the endless sea of flowers, arms outstretched as he gazed at the sky. The distant rumble of glaciers still echoed faintly in his ears.

"At least it's over…" Natsume thought with a sigh.

The sky was a clear, pristine blue. A gentle breeze stirred countless petals into the air, forming what looked like a spiraling path upward.

A Sky Forme Shaymin fluttered happily on tiny wings beside its head, soaring through the air—soon joined by a dozen more Shaymin.

Ash held Pikachu in his arms, staring blankly upward. Brock adjusted his backpack, flipping open a handbook.

"Shaymin travel in herds," Brock said. "This lone Shaymin must have returned to the flower field to reunite with its group."

The Gracidea flowers swayed gently in the breeze as the Shaymin's "Migration Dance" momentarily made everyone forget the shock they had just witnessed—

The Commander who led the battle against Giratina.

The Trainer who rode Giratina.

The man who stood with Regigigas to defend the glaciers.

All three legendary feats… accomplished by the same person.

"Unbelievable."

Flint snapped out of his daze, muttering under his breath:

"That's just not something a human can do!"

"Because he's Natsume-sensei." Brock smiled faintly, narrowing his eyes. "Someone you can always believe in."

The Team Rocket trio blinked back tears, whispering among themselves:

"We should give the Gracidea basket to the Executive, right?"

"It's the flower that symbolizes gratitude, meow!"

"We survived… Feelin' good~!"

The trio huddled together as Wobbuffet's voice chimed in.

"Natsume-sensei!" Ash suddenly shouted at the top of his lungs. "The glaciers have stopped!!"

Natsume, still lying in the flower field, winced in pain.

"Can't I just rest for a bit…?"

He let out a quiet sigh, rubbing his temples.

Commanding Mega Gengar in battle had drained Natsume immensely.

On top of that, coordinating Darkrai and Marshadow while relying on Aura of Ripple for stamina had pushed him to his limit after nearly seventy minutes.

Still, the crisis with Giratina was resolved. Saving the glaciers wasn't as exhausting as battle—no adrenaline rush to keep him going.

Now, lying in the radiant sea of flowers, exhaustion finally caught up to him.

"Gotta admit…"

Natsume watched the Shaymin's "Migration Dance" in the sky and murmured, "It's kinda beautiful…"

BOOM!

The earth trembled as the wild Pokémon that had held back the glaciers retreated like a receding tide, all returning to the depths of Mount Coronet.

Only the towering metallic giant remained standing beside Natsume, its signal lights dimming like a loyal guardian.

Everyone turned their gaze toward the figure in the flower field, falling silent as an unspoken pressure filled the air.

It was awe—directed at Regigigas… and at Natsume-sensei.

"Natsume-sensei didn't…" Flint muttered, "actually catch Regigigas, did he?"

Brock wiped sweat from his brow, expression serious. "Wouldn't rule it out…"

Ash held Pikachu, glancing back at the army of wild Pokémon as realization dawned on him.

They had rampaged when their home was threatened, yet banded together to face the sudden disaster.

Humans and Pokémon must share something in common.

But what exactly, Ash wasn't sure.

"Ugh!" Ash scratched his head in frustration. "Can't figure it out… This is too hard!"

Then, clutching Pikachu, his eyes reflected the dancing Shaymin and the man in the flowers.

"Natsume-sensei is just awesome—that's all that matters!!" Ash grinned.

Mount Coronet, shrouded in mist.

From the highlands, the now-still glaciers and the returning herds of Pokémon were visible.

With the disaster averted, memories of the live news footage resurfaced.

Lucian adjusted his glasses with trembling fingers, taking a deep breath.

"That Trainer just now… that was Natsume-sensei, right?!"

Not only did he stand on Regigigas' head, but he also brought Giratina into this?!

If I'd known you were this strong, I wouldn't have rushed to Mount Coronet for overtime!

"Sigh…"

After mentally complaining, Lucian regained his composure as an Elite Four member, smiling faintly.

"Once this is over… I'm taking a long vacation."

On the Highlands Near the Flower Field

Gabby, the reporter, trembled with barely contained excitement.

A veteran journalist from Hoenn News Network, she was famous for her "death-defying" reporting style—having once risked her life to cover the clash between Hoenn's legendary Pokémon.

The moment Mount Coronet began shaking, she and her cameraman Ty had rushed straight to the scene.

"Did you get that on camera?!"

Her eyes sparkled as she whirled toward her partner. "That Trainer—the one riding Giratina and commanding Regigigas!!"

"The blizzard messed up the shot," Ty grunted, adjusting his equipment. "But I'd bet my gear that guy's still around here somewhere."

"Move, move! We might still catch him!" The two hurried down the mountain, their reporter instincts leading them toward the sea of flowers.

Meanwhile, the live footage had already ignited a firestorm across the region.

"Mount Coronet in chaos! Who IS that mysterious Trainer?!"

"Gotta be Red. Who else could boss around a Mythical Pokémon like that?!"

"Or maybe Sinnoh Champion Cynthia?"

"10-year fan here! That silhouette is 100% Natsume-sensei—if I'm wrong, I'll livestream eating Muk!!"

The post instantly racked up thousands of likes, with replies flooding in:

"Bookmarking this. Coming back later for the reveal."

"Holy crap, now that you mention it... that DOES look like him!"

"Commanding Regigigas to stop glaciers? Calming Mount Coronet's rampage? Absolute legend!"

"Sure he enjoys Baby Cup battles... but when it counts, Natsume-sensei's reliability is downright divine," remarked an Alamos Town incident survivor.

None knew about the Giratina incident.

All they saw was Regigigas and that Trainer becoming humanity's bulwark against the advancing glaciers.

Meanwhile, Above Mount Coronet

Cynthia soared through the skies atop her Garchomp.

Her piercing gaze took in the wild Pokémon banding together against nature's fury—a sight that plucked at something deep in her chest.

Then her eyes drifted toward the flower field, lips curving in a knowing smile.

No need to seek him out directly.

Just knowing he'd resolved this was enough.

That mutual understanding and trust—the kind that lets warriors bare their backs to each other in battle...

Right now, Cynthia had greater duties.

Her duties as Sinnoh's Champion.

With a silent command, she banked Garchomp toward Mount Coronet proper, where Aaron, Granny Bertha and Lucian were already assessing damages and restoring order...

...

Regigigas' signal lights flickered with a crimson glow.

Its time to return had come... yet reluctance lingered.

"So you're one of those Ancient Colossi too? Only lasts three minutes?"

Natsume chuckled dryly, casually casting an Aura boost toward Regigigas before waving. "Thanks for the help this time!"

"Regigigas—" Regigigas nodded slowly, then extended one massive palm toward Natsume. "Regigigas."

Natsume blinked in surprise before placing his hand atop the offered palm, a faint smile crossing his face.

The size difference was staggering, yet Natsume could feel the sincerity radiating from the gesture.

"Regigigas—" Regigigas turned ponderously, its footsteps shaking the earth as it trudged toward Snowpoint Temple.

BOOM.

"Whew... Mr. Brandon's gonna lose his mind when Regigigas suddenly wakes up again."

Natsume sat sprawled in the grass, one knee propped up as he idly twirled a stalk of foxtail between his fingers.

"Though if we're following movie logic... doesn't Regigigas wake up one more time during the Hoopa incident?"

He fell into thoughtful silence.

Behind him, three elongated shadows stretched across the flowers—Darkrai maintaining its aloof demeanor, Gengar grinning wildly, and Marshadow lost in contemplation.

"Marshadow." Marshadow gazed toward where the rainbow had been, sensing a whirlwind of emotions.

Relief. Excitement. Gratitude. Regret... It stood motionless amidst the blossoms.

Ho-Oh acknowledged him as the Rainbow Hero. My duty ends here.

Natsume suddenly spoke: "Could you stay, Marshadow?"

"Marshadow?" Marshadow startled.

Its torch-like eyes blinked rapidly, darting between the black-haired young man's gentle smile and Gengar's antics before wrestling with the decision.

"Marshadow!" Marshadow shook its head firmly.

This journey was wonderful... but I have my own path to walk.

It met Natsume's gaze squarely.

As the Examiner of Rainbow Trials, others will need my guidance. Just as you must keep moving forward—

—until you become the greatest Trainer.

The unspoken blessing hung in the air between them.

Natsume: "..."

I really wanna cuss right now... but gotta keep it PG!

After a long pause, he exhaled with a wry grin. "Thanks."

"Marsh!" Marshadow clenched its tiny fists, determination blazing anew.

It looked skyward where a magnificent rainbow bridged the flower field, glaciers, and azure expanse. The Rainbow Wing in Natsume's hand gleamed with otherworldly radiance.

"This feather..." Natsume began. "Should I return it?"

Marshadow shook its head again.

Only a Rainbow Hero may keep the Wing.

Like Gracidea symbolizes gratitude...

This represents courage.

A testament to our bond.

"I won't forget you." Natsume's smile softened. "Maybe we'll meet again."

"Marshadow." Marshadow abruptly turned away, shoulders shaking as it sniffled violently.

When it spun back around, its expression had regained its usual stoicism. With a final nod, its form dissolved into shadows, leaving behind a single black flower amidst the colorful blooms.

Natsume cradled the rare blossom, its petals dark as midnight, when a baritone voice rumbled beside him.

"All beings have their missions."

Darkrai floated with arms crossed, its red scarf fluttering. "Pokémon included."

"Do missions ever truly end?" Natsume asked.

The nightmare Pokémon closed its eyes—Alicia's smiling face overlapping with Natsume's image behind its eyelids.

"I lack that answer." Darkrai admitted.

The next moment, Darkrai glanced at Natsume and said coldly, "I've only been away for a few days and I've already provoked another one."

Natsume choked.

"Why does that sound so accusatory?!" he sputtered. "You're making me sound like some playboy!"

Darkrai: "Hmph!"

Carefully plucking the black flower, Natsume placed it beside the Rainbow Wing with reverence.

"Everyone has their own mission..." he murmured.

Giratina guards the Reverse World.

Mew tends the Tree of Beginning.

Marshadow upholds the Rainbow Trials.

Then what's the mission for me and my Pokémon...?

Shaking his head, he stretched and ambled toward Ash's group through sun-dappled blossoms.

"Gengar." Natsume's voice softened.

"Gengar?" Gengar tilted its head.

"Thank you." Natsume casually picked a Gracidea.

"Gengar—(´v`)"

A giant lick struck his face. Natsume, prepared, chewed the 'Rage Candy'—only for his body to suddenly stiffen.

Dammit, this was a counterfeit product made by Team Rocket!

Natsume was paralyzed!

Epilogue

Brandon's jaw dropped as he watched Regigigas lumber forward.

BOOM!

The platform near Snowpoint Temple crumbled under Regigigas's footsteps.

"Regigigas—"

Regigigas returned to the temple—but instead of merging back into the Stone Orb, it settled onto its throne, motionless as a statue.

Surveying the wreckage around him, Brandon's expression darkened.

Looks like I'll have to call the renovation team again…

...

Team Rocket's Secret Base, Sevii Islands.

A man in a black suit replayed the live news feed, his face stern.

When he saw the blurred figure emerge unharmed, he exhaled in relief.

Beep—

"Lord Giovanni," Matori announced, "you've received mail."

Giovanni gave a slight nod—then froze.

The sender was an account he'd thought of every day. The contents were simple: just a name and a photo.

Silver: [Gracidea.jpg]

"Ah… it's that time of year again."

Giovanni stood before the floor-to-ceiling window, hands clasped behind his back. Then, with a rough swipe, he wiped away the grit in his eyes.

"Lord Giovanni." A researcher's voice crackled over the comms. "We've detected spatial anomalies—likely tied to Arceus."

Giovanni's expression hardened back into ice. He returned to the sofa, crossed his legs, and tapped his temple with a fingertip.

"I hope you won't get dragged into this mess again."

His voice was hoarse as he muttered, "…Mentor."

...

Reverse World.

In Giratina's crimson gaze, the reflection of a black-haired young man and his Gengar shimmered.

From them, Giratina sensed something rare—fearless conviction and courage.

A brilliance it both admired and respected.

If given the chance, Giratina wouldn't mind meeting this trainer again.

Maybe even letting him ride on its back once more.

After all… it hadn't been that bad.

Giratina shook its head. Within its dark-gold helm, its glowing red eyes fixed on the river of time.

Then, with a slow, sinuous motion, it drifted deeper into the darkness—toward a disturbance in the fabric of space.

A small, picturesque town. One said to have stood for a thousand years.

"ROAR—!!"

Giratina unleashed a furious bellow and charged straight toward a cerulean-blue Dialga…
