Chapter 105 - 105: Yin Yang fire!

A few minutes earlier, at the start of the clashes against the Red Lotus and their allies, three figures were flying over the city: Hama was on the side of the extremist organization; Azula was on the side of the Fire Nation; and Yue was on the side of the Northern Water Tribe.

Azula, who was staying afloat with jets of blue flames shooting from the soles of her feet, started the conflict by launching a lightning bolt at Hama. Hama quickly created a wall of water in front of her to prevent the electricity from reaching her, causing it to dissipate easily.

"Hmph! Your attacks are as simple as your appearance," Hama sneered. Though her eyes were narrowed, she was cautiously watching the two women in front of her, especially Yue.

Yue was the embodiment of the moon. As a waterbender, she had a high reverence for the moon and the ocean. After all, they were the source of her gift and her resentment.

She was imprisoned for so long because she was a Waterbender, suffering isolation and high temperatures without much water. She was left alone to survive without the motivation to use her gift as a weapon.

That's why she dedicated herself to overcoming her limits, expanding her mind, and finding a path she never thought possible. Although the full moon made her path to bloodbending possible, she no longer needed it.

She could let go of her hatred toward the spirits who could have saved her but didn't. After all, they were the Moon and the Ocean! They must have known about her suffering. They must have been able to fix it. Maybe she wouldn't have wasted so many years of her life.

"Did you just call me simple-minded? Look, I'll indulge your sick desire for my fiancé. After all, he's a ray of sunshine in many people's lives.

I forgive you for having perhaps gone through some difficult experiences that led you to your current situation. Who hasn't had a rough patch? I even forgive you for insulting me.

But never call me simple-minded. Did you know that Shisui did my hair this morning? He also helped me with my makeup. You old woman with young skin!" Azula growled. The usual sophisticated attitude she maintained in most of her conversations broke down. Even the flames that kept her afloat increased in power.

These words, which seemed to be just a complaint from a young girl, struck a deep chord with Hama, who was already on the verge of instability. With her emotions affected by her state, she was driven to scream for no reason.

Her reaction caused her two enemies to look at each other before slowly backing away. If there was anything worse than an enemy, it was a completely insane one, and Hama seemed to have fallen deeper into madness... at least compared to before.

"The corruption of dark energy and fusion with a spirit has been destroying her mind and spirit. Be careful; in this state, she may do anything to win," Yue warned, floating gently, supported by the humidity in the air.

Covered in white light, with her long hair blowing in the wind and her clothes fluttering in the breeze, her figure seemed to have become ethereal and almost divine. Even Azula glanced at her critically, although her attention was on the most important thing: the fight.

"I didn't think I had touched a sensitive spot, but the will-o'-the-wisp doesn't lie. You really are an old woman with young skin," the princess murmured, taking more aspects of this special fire into account and feeling that this combat would help her improve her mastery of it.

Hama's body was bathed in a strong, dark spiritual energy. Her limbs began to tremble and twist, and the red lines decorating her skin began to pulsate and emit an increasingly strong, bright light.

A pair of dark wings, reminiscent of a raven's, held her aloft. Her hair fluttered wildly like seaweed, and her eyes shone with an unnatural blue light.

Although transformed into a new entity that was neither human nor spirit, Hama retained a beauty that contrasted with Yue's. While Yue looked like a divine being, Hama looked like a demon from the underworld.

Azula, on the other hand, was the only one with a 'mortal' temperament and without many pretensions. She had a big smile on her face as electricity built up in her hands. She molded it into something more than just a chaos of light and noise.

She didn't care that she wasn't as 'special' as the others; she already had the person she cared about most in her life by her side. In fact, one could say that she 'won' him from one of the women. Isn't that a sign of her superiority?

She created her own 'special effects,' as Shisui would say. Her hair was covered in will-o'-the-wisps. The electricity in her hands stirred and began to swirl around her body, accelerating more and more and affecting the air around her.

The temperature rose, and the air became turbulent. Even Yue was affected by this situation while Hama's black wings fluttered with increasing force, trying to keep her afloat.

A thin stream of water shot at her. Hama didn't want to see what Azula was planning, but the princess's smile grew wider, revealing her teeth like a predator's.

She was! The only person who could subdue her wasn't there, so her normally calm temper began to flare up due to the dangerous situation she was in.

Although she was pregnant, she wasn't big-bellied. She could give herself over to the fight. While Yue created a mirror of ice to protect her from the attack of the woman trying to take her husband away, Azula decided to attack.

The ring of electricity had altered the environment around her, making it more suitable for a Firebender like her. With a twist of her body, she unleashed a kick that created a blue flame much more powerful than usual.

These were the flames she normally wielded, but they were hotter and darker, surrounded by small electric sparks. The modified environment made it easier for her to generate fire and take advantage of something Shisui called 'plasma,' which increased the power of her attack.

The jet of fire transformed into a hawk-like figure and quickly covered the distance between her and Hama. The winged woman tried to quickly summon water from her surroundings, but found it difficult. She then turned her venomous gaze to the only person who could hinder her.

Yue raised an eyebrow when she felt her enemy's gaze. She even gave her a malicious smile before waving her hand. Taking advantage of the water in the environment, which she had brought under her control while Hama had not, she created a giant snake from this element.

The fire falcon struck Hama first, as if a real animal were hunting a crow in nature. The elemental creation initiated the attack with its flaming 'claws' and then with the rest of its body, causing an explosion.

As the blue flames and shock waves spread, the snake struck, generating a cloud of steam and causing a sudden temperature change that would harm any living creature at the epicenter.

Yue took advantage of the steam produced by the collision of the two attacks. He compressed and detonated it again, causing several explosions in a row. Hama's cries of pain went from human to a squawk similar to that of a crow.

Then, a shock wave accompanied by a large concentration of dark energy dispersed the thin, hot mist that had surrounded Hama. Thus, the woman's figure became visible again.

Azula and Yue were surprised to see that, except for some minor burn marks, their enemy's body was relatively intact. A thin layer of water covered her, and although her wings appeared disheveled, she was essentially fine.

"You may have taken possession of the water outside, but not that of my body," Hama said, showing her hands, which had turned into sharp, metallic-toned claws that emitted wisps of dark energy.

She didn't show it on the outside, but she was very angry about the attack. She also became much more cautious. Had she not acted instinctively, she would have been seriously injured or perhaps killed.

Using the water in her body was not a long-term option because it would cause problems. Even now, her mouth was already considerably dry, a clear sign of dehydration.

She decided to exercise her bloodbending abilities, but not on Yue or Azula, whose chi was powerful enough to resist her attempts, and who clearly wouldn't let her do it anyway.

Instead, she decided to fight for control of the surrounding water and took a third of it from Yue by surprise. Then, a blue glow emerged from the water, quickly healing her wounds.

During this process, Azula flew quickly toward her. Her speed had increased significantly, thanks to her excellent control and use of lightning bending.

Her fingers were extended like a feline's claws. With the distance greatly shortened, she launched a strike, creating four lines of flames that shot toward Hama.

Ice spikes sprouted around Hama and Azula. They pointed menacingly at Azula, but the princess began to laugh. She continued advancing while waving her arms faster and faster. She launched bursts of fire at her enemy, who had to fly away to evade them.

She was dismayed. Did this princess have no regard for her own life or the life of the child she was carrying? She ignored the attacks from all sides, intent on hurting her enemy with her intense flames.

Azula was already accustomed to this type of attack. She had trained and fought with Shisui since they were children, so she had countermeasures to resolve this situation.

Thus, the electric ring that constantly spun around her body transformed and separated into small blue spheres that moved away from her body and exploded in the midst of the approaching ice spikes.

The unbridled electricity collided with the ice attacks, shattering them. As Azula and Hama flew over the city, attacking and defending in equal measure, cold mist began to surround them.

Yue? Hama didn't seem to want to face her, which made perfect sense, so Yue just watched this fight, as well as others happening throughout the city.

"Everyone seems to be having fun, but no one wants to have fun with me," Yue sighed, somewhat bored. She had even secretly prepared some things to confront Hama with.

"But it looks like Azula is using this fight to adapt to her new flames," Yue muttered, noticing something interesting about her daughter-in-law.

Azula was trying to integrate her two special flames. Although they were the same color, the difference in tone, behavior, nature, and temperature made this process complicated.

However, Yue saw that Azula was using this process to develop more combative uses for the will-o'-the-wisp. The most interesting thing, though, was the vague image that began to surround the princess.

Perhaps due to Shisui's influence, Azula had become well-versed in the spiritual side of firebending and had even ventured into its divinatory art. She had also learned a basic concept: positive and negative.

She had already applied this concept when creating and manipulating lightning bolts, and now she was applying it to her two flames. The image Yue saw was a yin-yang made of fire, which she often observed in the interaction between Tu and La.

It was during this battle that Princess Blue created something that would later be known as 'Yin Yang Fire.' But... this fight had only just begun.
