Chapter 35 - Tossed away

The ground trembled violently. The air itself seemed enraged, vibrating with raw fury. Nox struggled to rise, but the Abyssal Devourer's oppressive aura pressed down on him like an ocean of lead, growing heavier with every passing second as the creature's power surged back.

Mana exploded outward in swirling black torrents. The demon's eyes locked onto Nox. It took one massive step forward, and the stone beneath its foot shattered into a crater.

Then—

Clink.

You have di—$# r#§ət—

Darkness.

Nox woke with a gasp, heart hammering. He couldn't see a thing. The familiar field where he had died before was gone. Instead, humid, warm air thick with the metallic tang of blood pressed against his skin. The poison in the atmosphere confirmed it—he was still in the demon realm.

Not the trial anymore.

That realization hit like cold steel. From now on, death would be final. No more respawns. He would need food. Water. Rest. And he was completely alone in unknown territory.

He forced himself to stay calm. I need to Prioritize Survival.

The ground was solid rock. He reached out and found a wall—rough, cold stone. A tunnel. He moved carefully, hands tracing the surface. Roughly ten feet across. He could walk about fifty feet in either direction before hitting another wall. A straight corridor.

Forwards or backwords

He chose forwards

One hundred forty-eight… one hundred forty-nine… one hundred fifty.

There it was again—the same subtle notch in the wall he had passed earlier. The pattern repeated exactly every twenty-five feet.

He tried the other direction. Same result.

Crack.

Nox pulled his fist from the stone, small fragments clattering at his feet. If this holes here again then that confirms I'm in a loop. Sure enough there's the hole he just created way behind him has now re appeared

If I'm in a loop no beasts should be here.

Sparks of lightning crackled to life around his fingers. The sudden flash illuminated the tunnel in both directions—and revealed an endless line of identical Noxes stretching into infinity, each with tiny arcs of electricity dancing on their hands.

A grim smile crossed his face.hahaha haha of course one thing after another

He turned and began punching through the wall with raw force. Stone shattered. A hole formed. He broke through—

—and stepped into the exact same room.

"Damn it."

He tried the floor next, smashing a pit large enough to drop through. When he looked up, another hole had appeared in the ceiling directly above, with another version of himself staring up at another version of him repeating infinitly.

He dropped his sword into the pit. Every infinite copy did the same. The blade fell… then reappeared from above.from noxs view it looked as though there were an infinite amount of swords falling down an infinite hole when he looked up it was the same an infinite hole with the sword falling endlessly. The swords went through the loop a couple more times. The maximum valacity was slower then it should have been strange. The space is folding back on itself.

He caught the sword mid-air and sat down, breathing steadily. The mana in his body still flowed normally. Nothing felt wrong—except that everything was.

Destroying the entire structure might collapse it on him. He needed precision.

He closed his eyes and focused. No strong void mana… but at the exact threshold of the loop, where the wall met the fold, he sensed something faint. A whisper of void energy.

Nox mapped the space carefully. Twelve and a half feet wide. Twenty-five feet long. A perfect rectangle.

He spent the next hour turning the floor into a minefield of holes, prying out chunks of stone and hurling them into the void with accelerated gravity magic. Once the room was packed with as much loose rock as he dared, he stood.

Lightning surged through his body. His hair stood on end from the static charge.

He ran.

Ten minutes. Nothing.

Thirty minutes. Still nothing.

Overloading the loop hadn't worked.

Fine. New approach.

He stood at the threshold where he had felt the void mana and began channeling. Pure mana poured from his core into his blade. A faint black glow ignited along the edge.

It worked.

He slashed.

A crescent of pure void energy screamed forward. The slash didn't stop—it kept going, looping through the folded space.

"Shit—!"

Nox dove desperately. The black slash passed inches from his back, hungry and endless.

Standing back up nox looked over at the slash the never stopped coming an infinite amount of slashes permanently moving forwards. Damn it was worth a shot. The space is like a box I figured I might be able to attune with my void element and cut the box right at its edge cutting through. However the box was an impenetrable prism to the likes of nox.

Sitting down nox began to meditate thinking of a way out.

Liliths Pov - the abysal devouror's hand had crushed nox's head as the voice muffled and glitches stated nox has di—$# r#§ət— the air started to Crack the abysal devourer lunged towards Lilith next its hand peirced the air where Lilith had been she was transported out of the trial. Liliths envirment had changed completely but yet it was familiar. Wait where's nox she started frantically looking around but there was no signs of nox anywhere.A sinking thought crept in hee mind nox had died and the trial kicked her out what if he could no longer revive and was dead. A shiver shot down her spine a tear fell down hee face. She swiped it off with a look of confusion what is this why is water flowing down my face after a minute she gave the area one last glance it was the same place she and nox had gone to enter the trial all those years ago now she was finally free.

She started to walking back the same direction they came from originally. After a few days of walking she had killed a bunch of demons along the way her abilities fully returned from the trial she was no longer weak killing a couple demon's was no problem.
