[Moon Foundation – Chairman's Office]

The office reeked of wealth and power—mahogany shelves lined with rare liquors, thick curtains drawn halfway to shield the neon glow of the city, and a haze of smoke curling lazily from the end of a cigar.

In the center, behind a massive black desk, Chairman Kang Dae-hyun sat like a king on his throne, expression as hard as stone, eyes colder than winter steel.

A knock broke the silence.

"Sir," his assistant bowed low, stepping in. "Young master Jinwoo Kang has arrived, as you ordered."

Chairman Kang's jaw tightened. He tapped his cigar once against the ashtray, then muttered, "Bring him in."

Moments later, Jinwoo Kang swaggered into the room. His shirt collar was undone, two golden chains glinting on his chest, the faint smell of alcohol clinging to him. His gait was lazy, careless—like a gangster who owned the world.

Chairman Kang's eyes darkened.

"What are you doing these days?" his voice cut sharp, laced with suppressed fury.

Jinwoo leaned casually against the chair in front of the desk, not even bothering to sit properly. He smirked.

"As you said, Father… focusing on Moon Foundation's work."

"Oh, really?" Chairman Kang's voice was dripping with disbelief.

"Yes." Jinwoo shrugged, his grin widening. "After all, I'll have to take your place one day, won't I?"

The smirk was the last straw. Chairman Kang slammed his tablet onto the desk with a loud crack. On the screen blazed an article headline:

"Scandal: Jinwoo Kang Caught Drunk, Hooking Up in Nightclub – Multiple Women Involved"

Jinwoo's smirk faltered for half a second.

Chairman Kang's voice roared, filled with disgust:

"Every week? Another woman? While you're engaged to Councilwoman Kang Yura?!"

Jinwoo opened his mouth, but the chairman cut him off, slamming his fist down.

"Do you even understand what's at stake?! Yura knows nothing of this filth. If she finds out, she will end this engagement without looking back!"

He leaned forward, his glare sharp enough to pierce.

"Councilwoman Kang Yura isn't just your fiancée—she is the Kang family's pride and our lifeline. If you marry her, we strengthen ties with the Park family. They're cheabol heirs, richer and more influential than us. That marriage secures our future."

Chairman's hand trembled with rage as he pointed at Jinwoo.

"But if you ruin this—if Yura walks away because of your disgusting indulgences—you're finished. Do you hear me? Finished!"

Jinwoo leaned back, smirk tugging at his lips again despite his father's fury.

"You cleaned it up, didn't you?"

Chairman Kang's eyes flared.

"Yes. I buried the article. For now. But don't you dare test me again." His voice dropped into a low, deadly warning. "This is the last time I will save you. Behave yourself—or I'll make sure you regret being born my son."

The room fell into thick silence, broken only by the crackle of the cigar burning down to ash.

Jinwoo chuckled softly, as if none of this mattered, but inside… a shadow passed through his eyes.

Jinwoo's phone buzzed. The name flashing on the screen made his smirk widen. He leaned back against the leather seat, answering lazily.

Jinwoo: "Wow, wow… after so many centuries, now you're missing me?~"

A sharp female voice cut through, venom dripping in every word.

Woman: "Get to the point. I saw the girl again yesterday—the one I told you to finish. How could she still appear in front of me?!"

Jinwoo narrowed his eyes, tilting his head.

Jinwoo: "Which girl, baby?"

The woman's breath trembled with fury before she spat the name.

Woman: "Ara Jeon."

For a moment, silence. Then Jinwoo chuckled, a dark memory crawling back into his mind.

Jinwoo: "Oh… that little beauty princess? Oh, sorry—I mean… the toy? Haha. Don't worry. My men used her up properly that night. I bet she's useless for any guy now."

The woman cursed in frustration, voice cracking with obsession.

Woman: "Useless? Then explain why she's still walking freely in the university—smiling, studying, breathing like nothing happened!"

Jinwoo's grin faltered slightly, interest flickering in his eyes.

Across the silence, Jinwoo Kang leaned back in his chair, legs spread carelessly, his shirt collar undone, gold chains glinting against his chest. His smirk was insolent, the kind of grin that mocked every rule in the room.

The phone call had just ended. The woman's words still rang in his head like venom dripping into his ears. "If Ara Jeon rises, I'll burn everything you have."

Jinwoo scoffed under his breath, tossing his phone on the desk, but his eyes betrayed a flicker of unease.

Chairman Kang's glare was immediate. His deep voice cracked the silence.

Chairman: "Who the hell was that?"

Jinwoo hesitated, then gave a dry chuckle as if mocking the situation.

Jinwoo: "The little girl matter again… Ara Jeon."

At the name, the chairman's face twisted. He slammed his fist on the desk so hard that the crystal ashtray rattled. A harsh laugh left his throat—bitter, dangerous.

Chairman: "That psychopath woman again! Hah! That crazy woman really has nuts loose. After destroying a little girl's life, she still can't let it go? She's insane. Just like you, my son."

He leaned forward, eyes narrowing, smoke curling around his words like poison.

Chairman: "You bastard! You even hooked up with her—while she's married! And now you let her pull your strings like some cheap puppet. Do you have any damn idea how much risk you've put on this family?!"

Jinwoo's jaw clenched, but he didn't look away. Instead, he dragged his tongue across his teeth, smirking faintly to mask his unease.

Jinwoo: "I know… worse, that girl is still alive. She's at the university. Studying. Breathing."

The words seemed to taunt the chairman further. A cold laugh ripped out of him, louder this time, echoing in the massive room.

Chairman: "Perfect. Absolutely perfect. Now you're ruined. Karma, Jinwoo. This is your fucking karma."

His hand slammed down again, this time sending the scotch glass toppling, amber liquid spilling across polished wood.

Chairman: "I told you already—she's using you! That bitch doesn't love you, doesn't care for you. She's playing you like the fool you are!"

The older man leaned closer, his voice dropping to a growl, each word heavy with threat.

Chairman: "You're going to marry Yura Kang. That's final. Forget that crazy woman for fuck's sake—or I'll forget you're my son."

The last sentence hung in the smoke-thick air, colder than any slap.

Jinwoo's smirk faded, his fingers tightening into fists against his knee. For once, silence overtook him.
