Chapter 11 - Chapter 11 Kaslana Reunion (3k word)

Ever since Cecilia learned who would soon be arriving in this world bubble, her thoughts had become an absolute disaster.

A complete disaster.

At first, becoming Cecilia had been manageable. Strange, yes. Confusing, absolutely. But manageable.

Being called "Mom" by Sirin?

Acceptable.

Taking care of a child?

Also acceptable.

Cooking meals, helping with homework, spending entire afternoons being dragged through amusement parks?

Surprisingly enjoyable.

Somewhere along the way, she had genuinely started seeing Sirin as her daughter.

But a husband?

That was a completely different matter.

Cecilia rested her chin against her hand as she sat on a bench near the park, staring blankly into the distance while Kiana enthusiastically complained beside her.

The words entered one ear and immediately left through the other.

Because her mind was occupied by a far more terrifying problem.

Siegfried Kaslana.

Her husband.

Or rather—

Cecilia's husband.

Unfortunately, Cecilia was currently her.

Which meant...

She buried her face in both hands.

She could accept motherhood.

She could accept becoming a woman.

She could even accept the increasingly alarming fact that she was starting to think things like 'My daughter is adorable' on a daily basis.

But being someone's wife?

No.

Absolutely not.

Her past life's identity stubbornly resisted that concept with every fiber of its being.

The more she thought about it, the worse it became.

What was Siegfried going to do after finally meeting Cecilia again?

More than ten years.

The man had spent over a decade believing his wife was dead.

Now he suddenly discovered she was alive.

Cecilia felt goosebumps rise along both arms.

"Happy thoughts," she muttered in her mind.

She straightened herself immediately.

"Happy thoughts."

Yes.

Forget Siegfried.

Focus on Theresa.

Theresa was coming too.

A small smile appeared on Cecilia's face.

Theresa was safe.

Theresa was familiar.

Theresa was a cute little nun who constantly argued with Siegfried.

Theresa was wonderful.

Much safer to think about.

"Can't wait to see Theresa."

Cecilia nodded to herself, completely ignoring the increasingly confuse looks Kiana and Bianca were giving her.

Meanwhile, far away from the amusement park, another group was making their way toward the world bubble.

Inside the train compartment of the Cosmic Juggernaut, Theresa suddenly blinked.

"...Huh?"

She placed a hand over her chest.

For some reason, she felt unusually happy.

Not just because Cecilia was alive.

Her mood had somehow become even better than before.

Almost as if someone somewhere was enthusiastically looking forward to seeing her.

"That's strange..."

Theresa tilted her head.

Across from her, Siegfried sat quietly by the window.

The wedding ring in his hand reflected the passing lights outside.

His expression was softer than it had been in years.

Yet at the same time...

He frowned.

"...Why do I suddenly feel like I'm being excluded from something?"

The strange feeling settled heavily in his chest.

He couldn't explain it.

It felt almost like someone had consciously decided to ignore him.

Siegfried narrowed his eyes.

Across from him, Theresa looked unusually cheerful.

A familiar memory surfaced.

That exact expression.

The one Theresa always wore whenever she won an argument involving Cecilia.

"..."

His eye twitched.

"...Oi, Theresa."

"What?"

"Why are you smiling like that?"

Theresa blinked innocently.

"I'm not smiling."

"You absolutely are."

"I'm not."

"You are."

"I'm not."

Siegfried pointed accusingly.

"That's the face you make whenever Cecilia sides with you."

Theresa immediately looked away.

A suspicious cough escaped her.

"...You're imagining things."

Siegfried's eye twitched again.

The uneasy feeling in his chest only grew stronger.

He was certain someone was stealing Cecilia's attention.

And he had a terrible feeling he wasn't going to like the answer.

-------------------divide------------------

After finally listening to everything Kiana had been carrying in her heart, Cecilia found herself unable to say much.

What words could possibly make up for years of loneliness, confusion, guilt, and self-doubt?

So instead of speaking, she simply wrapped her arms around Kiana.

One hand rested gently atop the girl's head, slowly stroking her white hair.

A simple gesture.

Yet Kiana immediately melted into the embrace.

The young woman who had once carried the fate of the world on her shoulders buried her face against Cecilia's shoulder and tightened her grip.

As if afraid that the moment she let go, everything would disappear.

Cecilia smiled softly.

Then she suddenly realized she had forgotten someone.

Her gaze shifted.

Not far away, Sirin stood beside Himeko.

The purple-haired girl looked awkwardly between Cecilia and Kiana, uncertain whether she should approach or remain where she was.

Cecilia immediately understood.

She smiled and extended her free arm toward Sirin.

"Come here, dear."

Sirin froze.

For a moment, she didn't move.

Instead, she looked at Kiana.

Then at Cecilia.

Then back at Kiana again.

The two of them looked so natural together.

So comfortable.

So close.

The sight made something in her chest ache.

A small, painful feeling she couldn't quite describe.

As if she were standing outside a warm home, looking through a window.

As if she didn't belong there.

Or perhaps...

Maybe she never did.

After all, Kiana was Cecilia's real daughter.

And she wasn't.

Sirin lowered her gaze.

Without realizing it, she took a small step backward.

Then another.

She was about to turn around—

—but a hand gently landed on her shoulder.

Sirin looked up.

Himeko stood beside her.

The red-haired woman didn't say anything.

She simply looked at Sirin with the same expression she had used earlier when encouraging Kiana.

Understanding.

Support.

Encouragement.

Sirin stared at her for several seconds.

Then she understood.

This was her new life.

If she kept running away, nothing would ever change.

Himeko gave a small nod.

Sirin took a deep breath.

Then she walked forward.

Step.

Step.

Step.

Until she reached Cecilia.

Without saying a word, she wrapped her arms around Cecilia as well.

The moment Sirin joined the embrace, Kiana felt another presence pressing against their mother's side.

She lifted her head.

Golden eyes met blue ones.

For a brief moment, neither spoke.

Then Kiana smiled.

A genuine smile.

"I'm glad you're happy."

Sirin blinked.

"...Huh?"

She tilted her head in confusion.

The statement seemed completely unrelated to anything happening.

Kiana simply laughed.

Meanwhile, Cecilia noticed another lonely figure standing nearby.

Bianca.

Unlike Kiana, Bianca remained a few steps away.

Watching.

Observing.

Waiting.

The expression on her face was calm as always.

Composed.

Dignified.

Yet Cecilia could still see it.

That faint longing hidden behind those blue eyes.

Cecilia sighed.

"Bianca."

The blonde Valkyrie looked up.

"If you want a hug, you can simply come here."

Bianca blinked.

"You don't need permission from your mother."

For a moment, Bianca remained silent.

Then she looked away slightly.

"...I am fine."

Kiana immediately turned around.

Still clinging to Cecilia.

"No, you're not."

Bianca looked at her sister.

Kiana pointed accusingly.

"You're doing that thing again."

"What thing?"

"The 'I'm fine' thing."

Bianca opened her mouth.

Then closed it.

Kiana nodded confidently.

"See? That's exactly the thing."

Cecilia couldn't help laughing.

Then Kiana leaned against her mother's shoulder and grinned.

"Come on, Sister. Be bold."

She paused.

Then added mischievously,

"Just like Dad."

The moment those words left her mouth, Cecilia froze.

Completely froze.

Meanwhile, Kiana continued rubbing her face against Cecilia's shoulder like an oversized cat.

Oblivious to the disaster she had just unleashed.

Bianca actually considered the advice.

After a moment, she nodded.

"...Very well."

Then she stepped forward.

Slowly.

Allowed Cecilia to pull her into the embrace.

Now Cecilia had three daughters gathered around her.

Kiana.

Bianca.

And Sirin.

For a brief moment, nobody spoke.

The afternoon breeze passed gently through the nearby trees.

The noise of the city seemed distant.

And for the first time in years, Kiana felt complete.

Then Cecilia's thoughts finally resumed moving.

Unfortunately, they resumed at the exact wrong topic.

Just like Dad.

Cecilia's smile twitched.

Her eye twitched.

Then another horrifying realization struck her.

Kiana was right.

Siegfried was absolutely the type of person who would boldly do whatever he wanted when it came to Cecilia.

Just like Kiana repeatedly confessed to Mei without shame.

Just like Kiana openly clung to the people she loved.

Just like a Kaslana.

Cecilia slowly remembered every romantic flashback she had unwillingly inherited.

Every ridiculous display of affection.

The blood drained from her face.

A terrible possibility surfaced in her mind.

When Siegfried finally arrived...

After believing Cecilia was dead for more than ten years...

After crossing the Sea of Quanta to find her...

After seeing her face-to-face...

Would he kiss her instantly?

Cecilia's entire body shuddered.

No.

No no no no no.

He wouldn't.

...Would he?

Looking at Kiana currently using Cecilia as a pillow.

Looking at Bianca quietly enjoying the embrace despite her composed expression.

Looking at Sirin trying to pretend she wasn't enjoying it too.

Cecilia suddenly felt that her future battle against the Honkai was going to be far easier than her upcoming battle against one extremely emotional so call husband.

----------------------------divide--------------------------

"Mom, what's wrong?"

Kiana tilted her head as she looked up at Cecilia. The older woman had been smiling moments ago, yet now there was a strange tension hidden behind that smile.

Cecilia immediately rubbed Kiana's head, hoping to distract her.

"It's nothing, dear. Mom's just a little nervous about meeting your aunt and your father."

"Mm."

Kiana nodded.

That explanation sounded reasonable enough.

Beside them, Bianca glanced at her phone before looking toward the distortion hanging in the distance.

"They should be arriving soon."

Almost as soon as the words left her mouth, the scenery before them fractured.

Crack.

The air itself seemed to shatter like glass.

Dark cracks spread across empty space before the entire section collapsed inward, revealing a vast black void beyond reality.

The Sea of Quanta.

Deep blue currents drifted beneath the darkness like an endless ocean, mathematical symbols and fragments of broken worlds floating within its depths.

Then something emerged from the darkness.

A train.

Slowly, majestically, the Cosmic Juggernaut pierced through the dimensional breach.

Its enormous metal frame glowed beneath golden lights as it crossed from the Sea of Quanta into the world bubble.

The train's brakes hissed.

Metal groaned.

Finally, it came to a complete stop.

Everyone waited.

One second.

Two seconds.

Five seconds.

Nobody came out.

"..."

"..."

"..."

Cecilia blinked.

Then looked at Kiana.

Kiana looked at Bianca.

Bianca looked back.

All three wore identical expressions of confusion.

Shouldn't Theresa and Siegfried have exited already?

A few moments later, faint noises began echoing from inside the train.

Muffled shouting.

Something falling over.

Another shout.

Then what sounded suspiciously like a chair being dragged across the floor.

Kiana sighed.

The expression on her face suggested this was not her first time witnessing such a scene.

"Ahem."

She rubbed the back of her head.

"It sounds like Dad and Aunt Theresa are arguing over who gets to leave the train first."

Cecilia's smile twitched.

"...I see."

Somehow she wasn't surprised.

"Those two really never change."

Outwardly, Cecilia remained calm.

Internally, however—

Theresa first.

Please let Theresa come out first.

Come on, Theresa!

Victory for Team Theresa!

As if answering her prayers, the train doors slowly began to open.

Golden light spilled outward.

White steam drifted across the ground.

For a brief moment, the scene looked strangely familiar.

Cecilia stared.

Wait...

Why does this look exactly like a Honkai: Star Rail five-star pull animation?

The dramatic lighting.

The smoke.

The golden glow.

Everything was there.

Cecilia subconsciously clenched her fists.

Come on...

Please don't lose the 50/50...

The doors fully opened.

And there she was.

Victory.

Theresa Apocalypse stepped out carrying the massive black-and-gold cross known as Judah.

The little nun stood proudly at the entrance of the train like a victorious general claiming the battlefield.

Cecilia almost wanted to cheer.

I won the 50/50!

Theresa looked around curiously.

Then she spotted Kiana.

"Kiana!"

She immediately waved.

Kiana waved back.

"Aunt Theresa!"

"Where's your mo—"

Theresa froze.

Her gaze shifted.

Past Kiana.

And landed directly on Himeko.

Silence.

The world seemed to stop for a moment.

Theresa blinked once.

Twice.

Three times.

Then she suddenly grabbed a piece of bread from somewhere and shoved it into Kiana's mouth before the girl could continue speaking.

"Mmff?!"

Kiana stared in disbelief.

Where did she even get the bread from?!

Nobody knew.

Theresa was already marching toward Himeko.

The usually energetic principal looked strangely nervous.

"Himeko...?"

Her voice trembled slightly.

The red-haired woman smiled softly.

"It's been a while, Principal."

Theresa's eyes widened.

"Himeko Murata?"

"Still alive."

For several seconds Theresa simply stood there.

Then her eyes began to water.

She quickly wiped them.

Failed.

Wiped them again.

Failed again.

Finally, she gave up and threw herself forward.

"Welcome back!"

Himeko laughed as she caught the smaller woman.

"It's good to see you too."

The two embraced tightly.

Watching from the side, Cecilia felt her heart warm.

It was a touching reunion.

A beautiful reunion.

A reunion years in the making.

...

Then realization hit her.

"...Wait."

Cecilia blinked.

"...Did Theresa completely forget about me?"

She looked at the emotional reunion.

Then at herself.

Then back at the reunion.

No.

This wasn't how she imagined it.

In her mind, Theresa would be the first one to notice her.

The little nun would freeze.

Tears would fill her eyes.

Then she would rush over shouting.

"CECILIAAAAA!"

And naturally, Cecilia would open her arms.

Theresa would dive into the hug.

Then Cecilia would gently pat her head while comforting her until she stopped crying.

A perfect reunion worthy of ten years of separation.

Instead...

Theresa had completely bypassed her.

For Himeko.

Cecilia lowered her head.

A faint shadow seemed to appear over her face.

Nearby, Sirin looked at her.

"...Mom?"

Cecilia slowly raised her head.

A forced smile appeared on her face.

"It's fine."

A pause.

"...Mom is not jealous."

Another pause.

"...Not at all."

Nobody believed her.

Especially not Kiana.

The white-haired girl looked at her mother's expression and immediately burst out laughing.

After a long conversation with Himeko, Theresa finally seemed satisfied.

She had learned what she needed to know.

After the final battle against the Herrscher of the Void, Himeko had somehow survived—and appeared in this world bubble. Yet the time flow between their worlds did not align. For Theresa, it had been over a year since their separation. For Himeko, it had only been a few months.

Time itself here felt fractured, inconsistent—like overlapping memories from different timelines stitched together incorrectly.

Theresa frowned slightly as she processed it all.

Then suddenly, her expression shifted.

"…Oh right. Cecilia?!"

She spun around immediately.

And there Cecilia stood.

Watching her quietly.

As if she had been waiting for this exact moment.

Theresa froze.

Her steps halted mid-motion, as though something had locked her body in place. Her mouth opened slightly, but no words came out.

For a moment, she simply stared.

Then her eyes trembled.

Tears gathered almost instantly.

"Cecilia…"

Her voice broke.

And then she ran.

Without hesitation, Theresa crashed into Cecilia's chest and clung to her tightly, as if afraid she would disappear again if she let go.

A muffled sob escaped her.

"I'm sorry… Cecilia… if only I had been stronger back then… you wouldn't have had to sacrifice yourself…"

Tears soaked into Cecilia's clothes, warm and uncontrollable.

Cecilia stood still for a moment, completely frozen.

She had expected this reaction.

She had prepared herself for it.

And yet feeling it directly was different.

Because she was not the Cecilia Theresa remembered.

But…

Cecilia bit her lip lightly, pushing that thought away.

She raised her arms and gently returned the embrace, carefully patting Theresa's back in a slow, steady rhythm.

"Theresa," she said softly, "aren't I here right now? That's what matters. There's no need to blame yourself."

Her voice was gentle.

Almost instinctively so.

As if the real Cecilia was speaking through her.

"So instead of being sad…" she continued, wiping the tears from Theresa's face with her thumb, "smile for me."

Theresa sniffled.

Then, slowly, she did.

"…You really never change," she murmured.

A small laugh escaped her.

"You're still the person I like the most."

Cecilia blinked slightly.

Then smiled.

"That's good to hear."

Theresa's expression shifted suddenly into something mischievous again.

"Then how about this?" she added, leaning in slightly. "Leave Siegfried and come with me instead."

A teasing grin formed on her face.

Cecilia let out a quiet laugh and gently flicked Theresa's forehead.

"Still saying nonsense, even now."

Before Theresa could respond further a voice cut through the moment.

"Really, Theresa… even now you're still trying to steal my wife?!"

Siegfried had stepped out from the train.

His expression was sharp but not angry.

More… complicated.

Theresa immediately turned toward him without hesitation.

"She'd be better off with me than with you."

"Is that so?"

Siegfried replied instantly.

But then he stopped.

No retort followed.

Instead, he simply looked at Cecilia.

Like he was afraid that if he blinked, she would disappear again.

The air between them changed.

Theresa noticed it immediately.

Her usual teasing expression softened.

She took a slow step back.

Without saying anything further, she quietly gave them space.
