Chapter 195 - Approaching the Heart of Corruption

Cedric and Alael rushed forward. In mere moments, they would approach the place where Chrunus played God. He would soon face God's Chosen and one of the 4 Seraphs. However, despite bringing Alael with him, she would be the one who would deal with the supreme chaos elementals.

It did not take long for the duo to notice a massive palace of chalk on the horizon. It was pure white, just like the lands surrounding it, yet the dark mists shrouded it, which gave it the illusion of obsidian.

Cedric wrapped his fingers around Equilibrium's hilt and drew his mighty blade. Ayil did the same with her executioner's blade as they approached the dark mists. Instantly, as if escaping a monster in the dark, the mists ran away and dispersed.

What else could the chaos do? Two of the most exalted beings in God's service approached them. Fear and terror were the only things they would feel henceforth, for God's mercy only extended to those who accepted him.

Lesser and Medium Elementals burned in holy fire if they even looked in their direction. Greater fared better yet in a guttural scream, they dissipated. The combined power of [Divine Zeal] and Alael's own Aura made quick work of anything that dared be under sub-apex class.

"Strange... there are no Supreme Chaos-type Elementals." Alael tilted her head as her ears twitched.

"I agree, it feels way too calm. There is no way Chrunus only had access to Supreme Chaos elementals he sent against us."

"Father, if I may."

"Go ahead, Alael."

"This feels like a trap. We should proceed carefully." Alael's golden eyes darted over the palace as the Holy duo smashed their way inside the palace of Chalk.

Cedric nodded, his [God's eye] worked overtime, yet for the first time ever, it could not see everything. 'Chrunus cannot be underestimated.'

He stopped for a moment; there was no point in leaving the palace in one piece. It would have been easier to annihilate it and deal with anything that remained. "Alael, let's head back and destroy this place."

With a quick curtsey, Alael followed after Cedric as they made some distance from the palace. Cedric dug his boot into the chalky land and turned toward the palace. There was no point in exploring it when [God's Eye] couldn't detect Chrunus.

"That can only mean the tyrant is not here." His nostrils flared as he raised Equilibirum in the air. Alael followed his motion with her own blade. [Enchant Weapon: Holy Radiance], [Holy Strike], Alael followed with a [Divine Storm].

Instantly, a massive pillar of holy energy rose into the sky, stretching almost as if it were a tidal wave, then it rushed forward. A wall of light washed over the land of chalk like a razor. The storm crushed everything, and Cedric's strike dug into the ground.

After the blinding light dissipated, only the flat land remained with a massive scar caused by Cedric's strike. "Much quicker than exploring such a cursed place."

"I agree, Father... however, we have not found Chrunus."

"I know..." Cedric crossed his arms as he huffed. "He is hiding from us... Such a disgusting demon."

However, the answer quickly came to them. The dark mists swirled around them, and over 30 Supreme Chaos Elementals stepped forward. Most were gaseous, yet some were made of flesh.

'Disgusting.' He gripped his blade. Chrunus was nowhere to be found, but his little ambush would be dismantled by God's Chosen and The Executioner.

Yet, it did not take long for an entity that was apparently their leader to make his presence known.

Cedirc activated [God's Eye]

"So it is you who is wreaking havoc in my domain..." The entity spoke; it was clad in obsidian armor and carried a massive blade.

He felt a soft pain in his head as he peered into Chrunus. The voice of God got scrambled and disappeared. 'That... cannot be good...' Cedric frowned as he leaned forward. He did not know what God meant by the messages he had received.

Then the most holy voice of God returned with the information that Chrunus dared hide from him.

God was truly merciful; instead of keeping him in the dark due to the disgusting influence of Chrunus, he had granted him vision into the status of the Chaos Contender.

'I do wonder what that means...' Yet it did not matter. He could see everything he needed. He ignored the shocked expression of Chrunus as he lunged at him. Instantly, Equilibrium and the Dark Obsidian Blade clashed.

"This is your end, Chrunus! You are to be judged by God!" Cedric shouted as immense holy energy crashed against Chrunus.

"You... WHAT ARE YOU?!" Chrunus shouted as the mists coalesced around him.

Cedric gritted his teeth as he let the massive Claymore slide past him. "I am God's Chosen. You are to fall by my blade and be sent to hell for the murder of an Angel and crimes against God's Creation!"

Cedric turned his head as he locked himself with Chrunus and ordered the Executioner, "Alael! Deal with the Elementals!"

"Understood, Father." Alael's lips curled into a sadistic smile. "Time for you little shits to learn what it means to face Father's legions!"
