Magnus Carrow, the Azure King, the Blood King and the others led most of the Rank 5s and some of the formation mages away, leaving only a few Rank 5s and formation mages behind.
After all, the spatial rift didn't need so many people to guard it, and with the top-level formation in place, there would basically be no problems.

That was how long Ryan had signed up to stand guard.
In fact, after a few months, the top-level formation would be completely stable and the spatial rift would be suppressed to the point that it could no longer expand. By then, one or two Rank 5 guards would be enough, and there would be no need for so many Rank 5s here.
