Time passed so quickly. Fifteen years had gone by since that day, since the moment Daxter was left alone behind bars. And now, for the first time in a decade and a half, he was breathing free air once again.
The morning sky looked bright, yet Daxter's steps felt heavy. He stood before the prison gates, eyes squinting against the blinding sunlight, as if the world itself had changed during the time he'd been away. But before he could take another step, the sound of an approaching engine reached his ears.
Two black sedans stopped smoothly in front of him. The doors opened, and several men in dark suits stepped out. He recognized some of their faces, people who had once worked with him, though now he had no idea under whose orders they had come.
"Good morning, Mr. Daxter," one of the men greeted respectfully.
"Morning," Daxter replied briefly, one eyebrow lifting in suspicion.
"Congratulations on your release," the man continued with a polite smile.
