Lucas let out a slow breath, trying to stay calm. "That old man, the mastermind behind everything, only ended up in a mental hospital. Why can't Daxter be freed too? He didn't even start all of this."
His tone remained controlled, but there was a thump of emotion in every word he spoke.
Julia threw herself back against the sofa, her face now flushed with emotion. "Lucas, he planned to kill you. Listen carefully, kill you!" her voice rose. "He managed to turn your own men against you. If you hadn't sensed something was wrong, you might be dead right now!"
Her hands clenched into fists, trying to hold back the anger and fear that had long been buried. She had nearly lost her son. And now Lucas was asking for mercy, for someone who had almost taken his life?
"And you want me to let someone like that walk free? Just wait for him to come up with his next plan to take you out? Never," Julia said firmly. Her eyes sparkled with the pain and fury of a mother.
