Su Lei's brows were furrowed as she gazed at the gathering before her, unsure of what to do next.
Su Bing was unconscious at the moment—thanks to her—and even if he weren't, his legs wouldn't be able to support him.
Even if she tried, she couldn't defeat them all because her specialties being hacking and assassination. There wasn't much fighting involved because none of her victims ever knew when they passed away or even attempted to resist—well, they couldn't.
She was quick but not that strong, and it was not practical to run while carrying someone on her back, as such would slow her down.
"Oh my!" Su lei's thoughts were interrupted by a manly but not deep voice that spoke, "I'm surprised it's really you Cod."
"You know, when I was told I was going to deal with Cod,my rival, my greatest enemy, I didn't believe it," the voice said again as the group of burly men broke apart in the middle and a young man walked out.
Su Lei was stunned to hear what he said; what rival, what greatest enemy? She didn't even know him or remember his face.
Yes, she had killed many people, and she always investigated them and their families first when a mission was assigned, so she was confident she didn't know him from anywhere. Su Lei couldn't even remember ever having a rival.
"Are you ignoring me, hmm?" The young man inquired in a displeased tone.
How could Cod be so arrogant, ignoring him without responding? Well....it didn't matter, Gabriel thought with joy; he now had Cod in his grasp thanks to that organization, and all he had to do was deal with Cod and realize his long-held dream.
Su Lei was taken aback when she was brought back out of her thoughts, trying to figure out what Gabriel meant by what he said.
_She really wasn't ignoring him; she was just thinking about how to get away. Seriously, if it were him, wouldn't he be thinking of ways to escape if put in this situation as well?_
"Anyway, you won't be leaving alive today," Gabriel said with an eerie grin, not wanting to waste time chatting with Cod because he knew her abilities, despite the fact that Su Lei hadn't spoken to him since.
"But, boss..." "Didn't you say you wanted Cod alive?" One of his minions inquired hesitantly.
Gabriel glared at the speaker, making the innocent minion who was simply trying to remind his boss flinch and become terrified.
"Yeah, I remember saying that," Gabriel said, turning to look at Cod and smiling. "So we're taking him back, half dead," his voice slowed and lowered, creating an eerie atmosphere.
"Get him!" As he walked to the rear of his charging minions, Gabriel yelled, folded his hands, and stood strangely, as if getting ready to watch a show.
Su lei rolled over on the ground after swerving around the first thug brandishing a stick.
_Dodging would be beneficial, but she couldn't keep avoiding; she needed to come up with a plan to get away with Su Bing as soon as possible_
As she had expected, they had indeed prepared another surprise for her. Only someone who knew her or had investigated her thoroughly would know she wasn't that strong. Yes,many people are afraid of her but they have never seen her real appearance and have only heard of her name and victims name.
Dodging the third goon ,her eyes caught sight of the bombs on the ground that were laying some distance away from from Su Bing's foot and that's when an idea stroke her making her eyes brighten.
Su Lei swiftly fled from the center of the gang's encirclement and ran directly for them. Picked up the bombs, and, thankfully, they were still connected. She swiftly removed her tiny butterfly knife, which she gripped tightly in her right hand while holding the bomb in her left, obscuring nearly the entire knife in her fist so that only a small portion was visible.
"Stop!!" Su Lei held the bomb high and shouted at the approaching thugs, "I have the detonator; one more step, and I'll detonate it."
The thugs stopped charging forward as they looked at each other. Even though they were thugs and criminals, they still wanted to live. They turned to look at the frozen Gabriel, asking themselves what they should do with their eyes.
_How was the detonator obtained by Cod? Why hadn't that smarty pants warned me about the proximity of the detonator? "Hold on, knowing that smarty, he would keep it for himself rather than keep it nearby. Gabriel assumed that since he isn't present, he must be able to control it from his location or that AI might be in charge of it.
Upon realizing that Cod was attempting to trick them, Gabriel grinned and thought, "That means what Cod has isn't any detonator; he's just bullshitting us, hehehe."
"I know what you're holding isn't a detonator " said Gabriel as he starts walking forward gesturing for his goons to get Cod.
Su Lei was taken aback by how quickly she was discovered, but Gabriel was unaware that she would not waste time or threaten to blow them up with herself. Indeed, she intended to blow them all up, with the exception of herself and Su Bing.
"You're correct." When Su Lei spoke to Gabriel for the first time, her voice was somewhat hoarse masking her gender. If only Gabriel had paid attention when she first shouted then maybe he'd have realized his self proclaimed rival was actually a woman.
After hearing Cod confirm his suspicion, Gabriel gave his men the order to apprehend him right away.
His men were no longer scared and hurried to deal with Cod.
With a plan in mind, Su Lei acted swiftly and hurled the bombs at Gabriel.
"Hey! Fuck! " When the bombs hit near Gabriel, he leapt back almost shrieking like a woman .
Su Lei hurriedly turned, carried Su Bing, waking him in the process, and dashed for the warehouse's back door before Gabriel or his goons could intervene.
"Ouch! What exactly is your problem?!" Shouted the enraged Zhu Ting, who had been roughly thrown to the ground by Su Lei after just waking up.
Su Lei swiftly took the silver needles off Su Bing's legs, disregarding what Su Bing was saying.
Cod really did demonstrated her speed by taking Su Bing and removing the silver needles from his legs in less than a minute and a half after throwing the bomb at Gabriel.
