Chapter 420 - 420: What gave you this misconception?

"So, Professor, were you watching the screen just now?" Clay asked after leaving the office and sitting down on the stone platform at the Iron Golem's feet.

Kasenhis sat on the stone platform opposite him and raised an eyebrow.

"That book was made by me, after all. I'll always have some sense of it. I imagined many possibilities, such as you summoning TNT and flames, lava, all sorts of magical elements, Wither Skeleton skulls, or End Crystals. Those things are all very dangerous, which is why I told you to use it under the supervision of an adult wizard."

"But in the end, your choice was... a grass block and a little yellow flower. To be honest, that surprised me quite a bit," Kasenhis said, clearly astonished.

"Professor," Clay said.

"Hm? What is it?" Kasenhis looked up.

"In your eyes, is only something that hurts people considered magic?" Clay's very first sentence reached a level most people could not keep up with.

"Of course not, at least not to me. But I am a professor, after all. At your age, most people tend to think that way. They think magic that can hurt others and destroy beautiful things is real magic, while the more interesting magic, the magic that makes our lives more convenient, is... not cool enough."

Kasenhis considered his words before answering.

"Actually, that's much more childish. A person can't solve everything with destructive power. Just now, I only wanted to experience what it felt like," Clay said succinctly.

"Experience what it felt like? The feeling of creation?" Kasenhis asked.

"Exactly," Clay said seriously.

"That's easy. I'll give you an interesting little thing. As for how far you can take it, that's up to you."

Kasenhis snapped his fingers, and a small wooden axe appeared in his hand. He then handed it to Clay.

"A wooden axe... What does it do?" Clay asked in surprise.

"This isn't an ordinary wooden axe. It's a wooden axe taken from that book. As for what it does, I'm not speaking to you as a professor right now. I'm speaking in another capacity."

Kasenhis smiled cheerfully.

"Alright." Clay nodded.

"Oh, right. Where's that companion of yours? Is she your girlfriend? Vivian from Slytherin, right?" Kasenhis asked.

"Watching the excitement and queuing to try the book," Clay said.

"I thought the two of you would stay together," Kasenhis raised an eyebrow.

"Because I'm Muggle-born and she's pure-blood, so we don't get too close when there are too many people around. Besides, I have something more important to do right now," Clay replied.

"Such as?"

"Hurrying to the Great Hall to pack two dinners. Otherwise, she and I are going to be hungry tonight."

Clay put on a pained expression.

"O shit... It's already this late? I forgot too!"

And just like that, Kasenhis disappeared in front of Clay, leaving behind only tiny specks of purple light.

"Oh... I thought he'd bring me along too."

Clay sighed helplessly.

...

Late at night, in the Headmaster's office.

"You have no thoughts about that book?" Dumbledore asked curiously, looking at Grindelwald seated across from him.

"To me, that isn't magic. It's merely an excessively powerful alchemical device. And the authority over that alchemical device doesn't lie with me," Grindelwald said regretfully.

He was not regretting the fact that the Book of Minecraft could not be used by him. In truth, now that he was so old, he had already come to terms with many things.

For example, those worms in the Ministry of Magic.

If they declined, then let them decline.

If they died, then let them die.

They were not worthy of his salvation.

And today, seeing those young wizards each displaying their own remarkable abilities had ignited a different sort of hope in him.

Perhaps he really ought to trust the wisdom of future generations.

As for that book, what remained in him now was only relief.

Perhaps in ancient times, the Deathly Hallows had been created in the same way.

Although, judging by what it could do, this book was far more powerful than two of the Deathly Hallows combined, namely the Elder Wand and the Invisibility Cloak.

"The only thing I regret now is that he wasn't born seventy or eighty years earlier. If he had been, just how much more could I have done?" Grindelwald sighed.

"Perhaps that was your good fortune as well. Given his personality, do you think he would have accepted your ideas, or forcibly destroyed your cause?" Dumbledore said with amusement.

"That was your cause too. Besides, not necessarily. If I had a chance to speak openly and honestly with him, I might have been able to make him understand and approve of my ideals. To make him understand why I did what I did. I would only need one opportunity," Grindelwald said faintly.

Dumbledore's laughter became even lighter, so light that Grindelwald sensed a trace of mockery within it.

"Do you think my Professor Kasenhis is some sweet, naïve fool with no opinions of his own, who believes whatever others tell him?" Dumbledore asked with a smile.

"Not quite."

Grindelwald curled his lips and shook his head. But judging from his expression, even if the Kasenhis in his mind wasn't exactly like that, he wasn't far from what Dumbledore had described.

"I advise you to extinguish that idea as soon as possible. Kasenhis, on the surface, seems soft and squishy. As long as no one touches his bottom line, anyone can pinch him, tease him, and joke with him. He's a good-tempered, agreeable man. At first glance, he not only seems kind, but also not terribly clever."

"But deep down, that boy has the most stubborn and unyielding temper imaginable. I've known him for six years now, including this year, and once he decides on something, he never changes. In his first year, who knows which wire in his brain crossed, but once he decided Quirrell was an enemy, he immediately picked a fight and beat Quirrell, along with Voldemort on the back of his head, into the hospital wing for who knows how long."

"And there are many more examples. Once he identified a family of three as Death Eaters, he killed the whole family without hesitation. He knew perfectly well that Voldemort was using Severus as bait to lure him in, but he still went without a word and ended up trapped for half a month."

"As for Fudge, that hardly needs saying. He crossed Kasenhis' bottom line only twice. The first time, he lost an arm. The second time, he was sent straight to meet Death. You simply haven't spent enough time with him. What exactly gave you the illusion that Kasenhis is someone easily influenced?"

Dumbledore spoke with earnest patience.
