Chapter 60 - 60. Fate of Fateless

Armaros looked at the emblem on his chest over his heart and then at the divine spear which had stopped thrumming as he put the armor back as he sighed and then looked at Fanah as the slave was looking at him and the spear in his hand in disbelief.

"Do you know anything about this?" Armaros asked as he wanted to know what she thinks about this.

'Who knows. Maybe she knows something about divine weapons from her time as a knight.' Armaros thought to himself as he looked at her.

"I don't know much, but considering the aura that the weapon has, I think that it might be a divine weapon." Fanah said to him as she looked at the spear.

"You think so?" Armaros asked as he looked at the spear.

"I have never seen a divine weapon with my own eyes, however the aura that it exudes is something that can be ignored. And it does fit the weapon used in the statue, so I suppose it is." Fanah said to him with a shake of her head.

'I guess that tracks. The hero clans are the ones who have the divine weapons in the human empire. The Church also has one, but that is something that I know because I was one of the Dawnbringers.' Armaros thought to himself as he looked at the spear.

"Well, I think it's best if I hid it, isn't it?" Armaros asked her as he looked at the spear.

"That would be ideal. Many would wish to get their hands on such a weapon if they found out about it." Fanah said with a nod as she remembered the types of nobles that had caused her grief.

"Well, that means it will be a problem. Unless I can find a way to hide it." Armaros said as he looked at the spear.

He narrowed his eyes and thought about the spear disappearing. He didn't know if it would work but he didn't think that trying it out would be a waste, as anything that would be of help to him would be appreciated.

And to his delight the spear shone a bit and then it disappeared in motes that entered his hand as he blinked as he raised his armor again as it groaned a bit as he saw the emblem shine for a few seconds as he realised where the weapon is.

"Well, guess that solves that. Onto the next thing, how should we take care of all of their tresure?" Armaros said as he looked at all the gold and other treasure in the room.

"We have to take it all." Fanah said as she looked at the treasure.

She knew that they couldn't leave it as it is, not when it is so much money. With this much, someone will be able to live comfortably for a good amount of time, and maybe even make a lot of profit if they use it wisely. But she knew that her master probably didn't want that, since this isn't enough to live a lavish life of a noble or anything.

"You're right. Well, I do have one way." Armaros said as he opened a portal as she blinked.

She watched as he used his magic and funneled all the gold and treasures into the portal, leaving nothing behind as he closed the portal as she looked at him in confusion.

"What was that?" Fanah asked as she looked at him.

"That was a portal that connected to a pocket dimension. It's a bit hard but I have trained in it and am able to do it without any complications." Armaros said which stupefied her.

"H-How did you learn that?" Fanah asked in shock.

"You learn a lot of things when you're desparate and have enough motivation. And don't forget the Mana, I was able to train this one a lot more because I have more mana." Armaros said as he looked at the temple.

"So, what should we say?" Fanah asked as she wanted to get their facts checked.

"We will tell the guild that we killed the goblins and the Ogre. That would be more than enough to give us a lot more money since Ogres are strong and dangerous. As for the gold, I think there is no need to mention it, it's best if people don't know about it. The only think they should know is that there was a goblin camp and an Ogre in this place." Armaros said as he looked at her seriously.

"Understood." Fanah said with a nod.

Fanah also agreed with that course of action, there was no need to announce that they had managed to find a lot of treasure here, the fact that they had killed an Ogre would be more than enough of a statement to show their strength and it would inevitably draw attention to them due to her master's age.

"Good. Then let's go. I have already taken the evidence needed so the sooner we get back the better." Armaros said as she nodded and the two walked through the temple.

'A divine weapon. Heh, a demonic scabbard and now I have a divine spear as well. Maybe I can use these two to hide each other's presence.' Armaros thought to himself as he walked with his slave trailing behind him.

'My master has a divine weapon and was able to kill an Ogre and destroy a statue of a God. I suppose he isn't as weak as I thought him to be.' Fanah thought to herself as she trailed behind him.

'To think that I would have a demonic weapon and a divine weapon as well. Hopefully, me not being part of fate means that I won't have to deal with the bad luck. At least, I have more mana now and the limitation is no more.' Armaros thought to himself as he walked with thoughts in his mind.

-Xerxia Town-

At this time, Rhia was filing some paperwork as she looked at the adventurers in the guild as she has a sad expression as she couldn't see Armaros in them. She knew that he is alive and in hiding, but it didn't change the fact that she isn't able to see him like before.

'I pray that you are safe, Armaros.' Rhia thought to herself as she put the paperwork away and went back to work.

"Maybe I should pay Rosa a visit." Rhia muttered to herself as she worked.

Speaking of the girl, after it was revealed that Armaros had died, the girl had cried and wailed, refusing to believe that the person who had saved her life would die like that. Her new family tried to console her to the best of their ability, and then Rhia visited her to help her.

She told her that Armaros is alive and is not working in this branch of the guild and is far away due to personal reasons. To the eyes of the others, it was just a receptionist telling a lie to make reality more bearable for the girl who saw him as her idol, but the receptionist was the only one aware of the fact that Armaros is still alive and amongst the living. Thankfully, people will only see this as her lying to help a child, and since this is a common tactic used by others, they won't dig too deep about it and the receptionist was happy about that.

-Dawnbringer Clan-

In the territory of the Dawnbringers, Aurelia was sitting in her study, trying to find her son with what she could. But it was all coming up empty, she isn't able to sense the divine presence that he had and due to that she is unable to pin point his location. Since he didn't have any divinity in him, he was now truly one of the masses and that grated her, not only because it made it very hard for her to find him, but the fact that her son's divinity was stripped from him by what she assumes to be a hero descendant made her angry.

This concern for her son is something new and she is still grappling with the feelings and emotions that she is feeling due to not having him in her mansion, at her side like before. And she has also noticed that her daughters were also affected by his absence in the mansion, and she realised that they also miss his presence in the mansion.

The ones that have been affected the most were the three daughters Solana, Fleur and Valeria, with the latter being the most affected by it as she had noticed her becoming more colder after a while. Not to say the same wasn't true for the other two girls as well, as they had become more reserved as well.

Even his older sisters, Claudia and Arianne were also affected by his absence and have devoted most of their time to training and studying but just like their little sisters they had also become more colder and more reserved.

'It would appear that he also had a profound effect on them as well.' Aurelia thought to herself as she clenched her fists.

'I must find him. I will find him.' Aurelia thought to herself as she looked at the hand sized artifact that she had found in their treasury.

-Northern Part of the Human Empire-

The witch that had told Armaros about his fate was humming as she was flying through the sky in her carpet as she drank tea and savoured the taste.

"I wonder. How will you deal with your fate, Fateless?" The witch said with a bright smile on her face.

After all, she was quite curious to know what he will do after everything that has happened. She is certain that things will be much more interesting with him stirring the waters with his presence and actions.

-Church of the God of Light Centre-

The main priestess of the Church was praying in front of the altar for their God as she was the only one in the prayer room. Until the door to the room opened and a priest entered and briskly walked towards her as the woman opened her eyes and turned to look at the man.

"May the God of Light grant you a great day." The priest said as he bowed to her.

"May the God of Light grant you a great day. Why did you come here so suddenly?" The priestess asked as she looked at him.

"One of our strongest mages had managed to detect a divine energy signature not too long ago." The priest said to her.

"It must be one of the clans, there is no need to draw attention to that." The head priestess said a bit confused.

"My lady, it didn't belong to one of the clans. The divine energy that we managed to detect does not belong to any of the Clans. It might be a new one." The priest said to her as her eyes widened.

"How many people know about this?" The priestess asked him seriously.

"Just a few. It was just a few minutes ago that we detected it." The priest said to her seriously.

The head priestess was silent for a few moments before she looked at him.

"Get the Sentinels ready. Try to find the source of this divine power and perhaps it might be a useful tool for us." The head priestess said to him as the man nodded.

"As you command." The priest said as he bowed to her and then walked out.

The head priestess watched him go before she turned and looked at the altar of her God as she went on her knees and clasped her hands and looked up at it.

"Grant us your strength, my lord. I pray that you will give us your grace." The high priestess said as she bowed to the statue and prayed.

-Unknown-

In a dark castle, a woman was sitting on a throne as she was looking at the screen created by magic as she smirked to herself as she tapped her index finger on the blade of her sword which was covered in a dark aura.

The woman looking different from humans as she had a more demonic appearance, as her eyes were bright gold and her sclera were black as all her teeth were sharp as she licked her lips as her reptilian tail flicked around.

"Found you." The demoness said with a bright cheshire smile on her face.
