Time flew by in a flash. It has been more than 5 months since that incident where Akira dragged the both of them unconscious to the guild. It caused a big commotion, but just like usual, in just more than a day, everything passed by as if nothing happened. It's just from that day, Akira didn't go on any quests or come to the guild to work as a part-time worker. He spends most of his time in his magic shop strengthening his business and crafting who knows what.
When Akira said he was never taking quests, he was serious. After all, he couldn't deny the cruel truth anymore. Previously, Akira could still convince himself that he was just unlucky and would always take the most troublesome quests. He never thought any of these quests would bring much trouble to himself or others. But the last quest sobered him up completely. Yes, these quests may not be a threat to him, but they certainly would hurt those around him.
You know, when he saw the injured bodies of Makarov and Sera, Akira felt his heart come out of his body. At that time, if there wasn't Raphael to forcefully calm his mind, Akira would really lose his mind trying to find solutions.
Although things worked out nicely and everyone got home safely, Akira didn't dare gamble on this. What if in one of these quests one of his family members dies because they came to rescue him? If this happened, then it would be more painful than killing him.
This is why Akira decided not to take any quests for now until he had enough confidence to handle all the situations that he may come across. This meant things like coming across demons like Deliora or unexpectedly meeting Acnologia or even meeting that psychopath Zeref.
In other words, until he can take on the pinnacle of this world's combat strength, he will never take on a quest. Well, that's what he thought, but plans can't keep up with reality.
"What, Master, are you serious? You want me to take on a quest? " Akira asked in disbelief at Guildmaster Makarov, who was sitting next to him.
Today was like any other day. Akira opened his magic tool shop and sat down next to the counter, waiting for any customers.
But Akira never expected that before any customers would come to his shop, he would be visited by the guild master, Makarov.
Although Akira was stunned, he didn't care much and welcomed Makarov as usual. And after some small talk, Makarov finally revealed his true intentions. And it was none other than to make him take on a quest.
This made Akira very puzzled. Why did Master come here and personally ask me to do this quest? Are there really any quests that those guys can't do without my help?
Curious, Akira took a quick look at the mission content. And when he really saw what the mission was, he fell into deep contemplation.
The mission wasn't anything unusual; it was just that this mission was to drive away a demon that was haunting a village. Such missions, although not many, weren't that rare. After all, demons are mostly born from the negative emotions of human beings. It wouldn't be that strange if a small demon were to manifest in a village that is filled with negative emotions.
Such demons would usually be exorcised by the church priests and would rarely be left for the mages to handle. After all, for professional matters it is better to leave it to the professionals.
And even if something went wrong and the demon was too strong, such quests could still be done by those demolition experts who would either kill the demon or kill the demon along with the nearby buildings. If that doesn't kill the demon, they would just need to increase the firepower and destroy the whole village along with the demon. Sometimes, Akira even wondered whether one day they could gain a reputation in the Abyss where any demon would run away when seeing a Fairy Tail member.
"Well, Akira, you are an expert in demons, so I thought you should take a look at this." Makarov spoke, not knowing that Akira was ruining the image of Fairy Tail with his thoughts.
Akira didn't say anything, but he stared at Makarov with deadpan eyes. Did Master really forget that he could hear everything, along with the fact that this whole thing is just an excuse to let him go out and see the world?
"Ehem, well, anyway, I have already registered this quest under your name, so you should finish this one before the deadline." Knowing that he was probably being seen through by Akira Makarov, coughed awkwardly and ran away, leaving this remark.
And this made Akira even more speechless. Did Makarov really not care about his reputation if this thing ever got out? Although the guild master has the ability to give out any tasks to whoever he liked but, there was no one who would first register a guild member's name and then entrust the task to him afterwards.
'Sigh, the guild has already started on the way of desolation.' Akira thought to himself as he began to carefully read the mission contents. Earlier, out of professional habit, he didn't read the quest fully, but now that she is taking this seriously, his expression turned serious and then complex.
There wasn't much content on the quest. It only had a small description written: 'A devil has been spotted in the Village XXX and has taken over the church. A mage with the light attribute or able to purify demons is required. The reward is 15,000 jewels. '
Although the reward for this quest is a bit low, but this is expected from a quest that came from an unknown small village. But this wasn't what made Akira flustered; it was the fact that this description was very familiar to him.
As an avid Fairy Tail fan, how could Akira not remember the tragic background of his favorite characters? If his guess is right, then this village is none other than Fairy Tail poster girl Mirajane's hometown.
"So is Demon the one that Mirajane devoured, the Demon Satan?" Akira mumbled as he rubbed his chin, lost in thought.
Although in the book it was said that Mirajane, as a 13-year-old loli, was able to defeat this demon and devour it while activating her magic, Akira obviously knew that such a situation was very unlikely.
After all, no matter how someone speaks of it, how could a girl with basically no power actually overpower a demon who lived for how many years? Especially when that demon is a high-level demon like Satan.
You know, taking over this demon's power, Mirajane rose to the S-rank level at a very rapid speed. This alone shows how strong that demon is.
"I should probably pack some things just in case," Akira muttered as he went inside his workshop. After his last quest, Akira had now inherited his predecessor's fear of insufficient firepower.
…..
The next day, with the first sunrise, Akira left Magnolia by train. His departure didn't make any ripples. This is because on his way, Akira used his favorite illusion magic to hide his presence from those guys who were stalking him.
Especially those two, Grey and Lion. Can't you two at least take the clothes you took off? And you Ur why the hell are you as an adult even joining in on this?
And so Akira, under this constant comedic behavior of his guildmates, left Magnolia. Of course, the flustered Akira didn't know that the reason why everyone was stalking him was because the Fairy Tail guild was about to do something special for him. So this is why they had to make sure Akira actually left town.
As for Akira, really didn't know what this was about; well, only he knows.
