Chapter 71 - The waters are too deep

According to what Akira found, Brian was in a cooperative relationship with Prect, who is now known as Hades, to create the Tower of Paradise. Brian was responsible for supplying manpower, while Prect was responsible for the technical side.

From Brian's thoughts, Akira learned that there is not only the tower that was described in the story, but also 7 other towers made in different locations in the Ishgar continent, and 4 of them are in the Kingdom of Fiore itself.

And to create all these towers, a large number of people are needed. And for this, Brian used his dark world connections to create a huge slavery organization that would go and rob many urban villages and kidnap all the villagers they could and make them slaves that would be distributed to different towers at regular intervals.

They had been doing this operation for many years in secret and have almost finished making most of the towers.

The council was completely clueless about it, as Brian was very careful in keeping this a secret. And even if the news came to the council, it would never reach the top management, as someone would intercept the message in the middle.

It could be said that although Brian has no control over the top management of the council, his influence over the middle layer of the council was nearly perfect. And in addition, there was Prect, who also has a similar level, if not a greater level, of influence on the council.

You know, in the future, Ultear managed to become one of the nine councilors at a young age alongside Jellal. And unlike Jellal, who may have gotten his position due to him being one of the Ten Great Wizard Saints, Ultear managed to get her position due to Prect's influence in the council.

So with Brian and Prect pulling the strings, the Tower of Heaven was able to reach its finality. But now that Akira knew about this, how could he let these two get away with this?

And besides, what Fairy Tail mages love to do the most is create trouble for the dark guilds. And as a member of Fairy Tail, Akira would follow this tradition with all his heart.

'Brian, Prect, just wait, I will become your nightmare. ' Akira thought as a flash of coldness passed through his eyes. Now that Akira knew the locations of at least seven towers, he would be able to get the upper hand against them.

As for why he only knew seven and not all, well, this has something to do with the agreement Hades had with Brian. Brian would supervise all 7 towers, while Hades would supervise one.

Akira suspected that the tower that is under Hades's supervision is the one Erza was sent to, as he remembered that in the original story, Hades sent Ultear to this tower to brainwash Jellal. And knowing Prect, he would definitely only send Ultear to a place where he had full control, as at that time, Ultear was just a child.

Akira even suspected that the Tower under Hades' control is the real tower, while the other 7 towers are nothing but baits laid out for the council.

After all, as far as Akira remembers, to activate the Tower of Heaven, you need at least the magic power exceeding 2.7 billion Edeas. And that amount of magic power can only be collected through the Magic Council's secret weapon, Etherion.

In fact, Akira's guess was more or less accurate. The reason why Hades shared the blueprints with Brian and even decided to cooperate with him is because he needed a scapegoat for his plan. Or else how could someone as prideful as Prect even decide to cooperate with Brian?

Whether it was influence, strength, or even in the field of magic, Prect outclasses Brian in every way. Don't think Hades doesn't have a way to get manpower. As a bigshot in the criminal world, he has many dark guilds under him. And if he decided, he could start his own slave trading business.

It's just that he is too lazy to do all this, and he needed Brian to act as a buffer for his plan. After all, although Hades isn't afraid of the magic council, his subordinates are still not as strong as they were in the future. If the magic council really tried, they could make him bleed very dearly.

"Damn, Akira, what type of mess did you make this time?" Wakaba asked as he saw Akira coming with Ultear in his hands. Just from Akira's appearance, Wakaba was sure that deep trouble was coming.

"Oh, shut up, Wakaba, I made sure to keep my traces hidden. So there won't be anyone after me." Akira rolled his eyes as he put Ultear down.

Then, taking some rags from his storage ring, Akira wrapped them around Ultear to make her feel warm. Brian's last attack had knocked her down and destroyed most of her clothes. Even his clone was destroyed when it tried to shield Ultear from the explosion.

Thankfully, Ultear didn't sustain any injuries due to his clone's sacrifice. She just lost her conscience due to the sudden explosion.

Sighing at his clone's protectiveness, Akira reached for his storage ring and took a new set of clothes. Then, in a flash, his worn-out outfit disappeared and was replaced with brand-new clothes.

"Huh, kid, when did you learn Requip magic? " Wakaba asked in surprise. Did this brat learn another new type of magic secretly?

"Huh, didn't you know this is the second magic I mastered when I first started learning magic? " Akira said with a raised eyebrow. After learning fire magic, Akira decided to learn this magic.

After all this, magic is really useful when changing clothes. And besides, he was really curious whether he also had the same talent as Erza in Requip magic.

Unfortunately, although his Requip magic is decent, his magic attainments aren't as monstrous as Erza, who awakened this magic. Though, then again, people who awakened their own magic tend to be more suited for that magic compared to people who systematically learned it.

"We should probably get the hell out of here. Although we aren't responsible for the explosion, we should definitely not stick around when the council arrives to investigate this place. " Akira said as he used his taming magic to survey the surroundings.

Brian had already teleported away, and it would not be long before the council sent someone to investigate here. And with the relationship between Fairy Tail and the council, it wouldn't be strange for those old guys to make some baseless accusations and conspiracies.

You know, although the guild reputation isn't as high as it will be in the future, the council still considers Fairy Tail to be a troublesome guild that should be better wiped out. After all, whether it was in the future or now, the style of Fairy Tail is that they don't give a shit about the council.

This is something those councilmen absolutely cannot allow. Those guys care about their face and reputation too much. The only reason they had to endure was that the waters in Fairy Tail were too deep.

The first generation guildmaster, Mavis, was named the 'Fairy strategist ', who, with her brilliant and excellent intelligence, put a stop to the Second Trade War. Even now, there are many people who owe Mavis a favor and support Fairy Tail, the guild she founded.

And then there is Warrod, one of the four heavenly kings. His influence in the council was not something those old men could ignore. And lastly, Master Makarov, who is now one of the senior Ten Great Saints. Although the little old man may look goofy and unreliable, don't forget that in his youth, he was someone who put Natsu to shame. If the council really piss him off, then they better be prepared to taste his giant fists.

In addition, there are other allied guilds like Blue Pegasus, Lamia Scale, Quatro Cerberus, and many other guilds. Each one of these guilds has its considerable influence and would definitely support Fairy Tail if they were ever in trouble.

And besides, compared to other guilds, the mages in Fairy Tail are quite strong. Take Natsu, for example, that guy, despite not being an S-rank mage, could defeat Gajeel and Jellal, who were S-rank, and one being one of the ten wizard saints.

And besides, although fairy tail often cause much property damage, they never back away from taking responsibility. Most of the mission income is deducted to pay compensation. And when there are dark guilds attacking, it is Fairy Tail that leads the charge and comforts the dark guilds without any hesitation, making them the most hated and loved guild.

It was due to these reasons that the council was hesitant to brand Fairy Tail as a dark guild. After all, if they provoke the sleeping beast, then their positions would definitely be jeopardized.

This is why even in the future, the council only punishes Fairy Tail symbolically, despite the damage they do.
