Just as Akira was enjoying the feeling of his recent accomplishment, the building once again trembled. But unlike last time, Akira was not so lucky as he fell down. This fall made Akira sober up immediately.
"Right, I need to deactivate the array before Gildarts destroys the whole building, " Akira muttered as he stood up.
Injecting some magic power into his fingertips, he began to draw runes in mid-air. These are the same abyss runes he had just learned.
" And there, it's done…" In just a few seconds, Akira had drawn over dozens of runes. With a wave of his hands, he activated the runes. The runes that he drew began to reach towards the array on the floor and merged with it instantly. Then the magic array began to glow very brightly and then slowly began to fade away.
As the magic array faded, Akira nodded to himself. His guess was correct. It is far easier to use Abyss runes to erase the formation that was made with Abyss runes. If Akira had tried to use either demonic runes or even modern runes, it would at least take him 5 days at least to disable this array.
This is how powerful the oldest runes are. Modern runes or even ancient runes couldn't hold a candle against them.
" Now then, what should I do with you?" Akira said as he narrowed his eyes at the casket that was placed in the middle of the room.
From what Akira learned during his investigation, the demoness used this coffin as a main catalyst to activate the magic array. From what bit of information he heard, this magic array was only able to activate due to this coffin.
So if someone were to steal this, then everything would be over. This is why the demoness was so careful with her planning. She knew she had only one chance. So she placed the main array near her so she could protect it if anything happened.
This is also the reason why she placed the secondary soul-receiving array at that secret location, a bit far away from this place. She was thinking that even if someone found out her plan, they would go for the secondary array since it is the array that would strip all the villagers of their souls and magic power.
Then the secondary array would then transfer all the souls and magic power to the main array. Then the main array, after receiving would direct them towards the throne where the demoness is sitting empowering her and allowing her to break her limit.
You see, this demoness isn't that strong compared to the demons in Tartaros. But her specialty is her intelligence and unique skills that could only be used to assist her survival. Zeref may have created her in hopes that one day she would be able to research a way to break his curse or kill him.
After all, she isn't a fighting demon but a scholar like Zeref. But it seems this demoness wasn't satisfied with her power, so she had researched a way to break her limit. And that is when she came across this coffin.
Even though she couldn't open the coffin, she found that the coffin itself had various concepts engraved into it to survive the passing of time. And among those concepts, there was the concept of evolution enchanted into it. It was after she discovered this that she began to plan all this.
The concept of evolution is very precious, as this is not a concept that everyone can comprehend or even enchant into an object. The difficulty of engraving such a concept like is like a heavenly treasure to enchant magic users like Akira and Lilith.
Although the demoness wasn't able to separate the concept from the coffin, she was able to create a magic array that would allow her to utilize the concept.
So when the souls and magic power are transferred to the throne, they would contain traces of the concept of evolution, making it easier to break her racial limits.
" Now I wonder whose coffin this really " Akira muttered as he touched the coffin. You know this coffin has a scary concept engraved into itself, which indicates that the person inside this is definitely a big shot.
And from the feeling Akira was getting, this thing is definitely older than Akira's grandfather's two swords. Maybe it is at least a thousand years old.
"First, let's take this thing away, " Akira muttered. Although he was very curious about this coffin's history, he knew now was not the time to delve into it.
After all, Gildarts should be almost at his limit.
Thinking of this, Akira wasted no time. He held his hand towards the coffin and activated his storage ring.
A black vortex appeared from the storage ring, and in the next second, it opened like a giant mouth and swallowed the coffin and retreated back.
"Now then, let's go and kill a naughty demoness, " Akira grinned as a cold light flashed through his eyes.

" Damn it, take this, you damn filthy human!" Lilith screamed as she waved her hand, and numerous guns appeared in front of her. Since she knew her weakness was low attack power, she had prepared numerous magic weapons around her room that could be summoned by her command.
" Die, " she said coldly, and the next second, they all fired magic blasts at a rapid speed.
Seeing the incoming attacks, Gildarts didn't feel any fear or shock. He calmly held his hand and said, " All Crush. "
In the next seconds, all the magic projectiles, including the magic weapons, were crushed. There was a huge explosion as the building once again trembled.
" Damn you, bastard!" Lilith roared as the barrier she made disappeared. She was really angry at this human. Not only did all of her formations seem to be useless against him, but even her charm magic seemed to have no effect on him.
Where did this monster even come from, and why is he even here? She didn't remember provoking any in recent years.
" Well, you actually did provoke him by placing a curse mark on his wife." Suddenly, there was another voice that rang in the hall, making Lilith search for the new intruder.
Then she noticed there was a red-haired young boy who wore a mask who had somehow appeared next to that monster. The young boy had a cheerful smile as he continued speaking, " Your biggest mistake was that you were too greedy and placed demonic curse marks on all the traveling people who passed by this village. And worse, you actually made this place famous for its demonic activities. If you had not done any of that, then we may not have met, at least for another few years.
Well, then again, it's just me speaking, but I would probably come here for that coffin. "
"You, you are the one who broke into my secret room, " Lilith shouted as she realized that this kid was the person she had sensed earlier. And when he spoke of the coffin, she was sure of her guess. No one had known about that room or coffin, as she made sure of that.
"Yes, that would be me. Though I have to thank you for letting me witness the brilliance of Abyss runes. Though I'm surprised you are even alive after making that magic array. " Akira said, making Lilith feel a chill up her spine.
' How did he know this much? ' she exclaimed in her mind as she took a step back instinctively. And her whole expression began to turn very gloomy as she realized all her hard work had been thrown down the drain.
There is a reason why Abyss runes were considered taboo amongst taboos. Unless one had perfect control of the runes, they would have to pay a great price for activating even one rune.
And Lilith, who had spent more than a hundred years creating this magnificent array, had to pay the price of almost 90% of her lifespan. Although a demon's lifespan is infinite as long as their sources are safe, even then Lilith's actions actually harmed her source so much that she was almost dead. So that would mean if a normal human tried to make that array, they would have died before they could even complete two characters.
One could say that for a chance of breaking her limit, Lilith actually gambled all of her chips. And if Akira wasn't here, then she may have already won her bet.
But unfortunately, Akira was here, and he had no sympathy for this demoness. \
Akira turned to Gildarts and said, " You can stop holding back now. This demoness has the unique ability of being quite durable due to her super regeneration. You can vent as much as you want "
A big smile appeared on Gildart's face. His killing intent that was bottled up inside of him was instantly released as he rushed towards the demoness who was responsible for his wife's suffering.
" Crushing Evil, Spreading the Truth: Absolute Heaven, " Gildarts roared as he attacked ferociously.
Akira, for his part, kept his distance as he watched Gildarts release all his pent-up anger on Lilith, who was trying all methods to either escape or block Gildarts's merciless attacks.
Thinking Gildarts would take a while to finish, Akira began recounting his experience while using Abyss runes for the first time.
Thankfully, he had Great Sage for assistance, or else he would also have to pay a similar price to that demoness to activate that elimination array.
