Listening to Shinji's sedate tone, Pirato tenses up slightly. Part of him is telling him to have investigated the young man before rushing in to throw an invitation.
—What does he want?
Tension embraces the Academy principal and he nods.
"I don't know much about the Roman Cavalry, but something tells me Lila-chan is part of it. I have a 'thing' for her, and I would like to be under her, or Valorn at least."
'What a fool!'
Pirato's comment is comprehensible. Someone like Lila is beyond Shinji's grasp; if she is an eagle, then he is the worm she eats in the morning —Valorn is another issue: no one dares to work with him.
All the cautiousness Pirato had for Shinji vanishes.
He nods a few times.
