Chapter 21 - GORO

"I took your beating without saying a thing."

Vicious amber-eyes glared at the sixteen-year-old, Goro, who had his punch intercepted.

"But, you insulted my mother. She has nothing to do with this. Apologize now."

Hearing the cold voice coming from a 14-year-old, Lucy, he placed on the corner of an alleyway, Goro felt cold sweat tricking down his face. He made sure to pull away his cousin from public view, and beat him up to a bloody pulp. However, now he regretted it because of fear.

His siblings physically harassed this cousin of his. When Goro refused, they mocked him in many ways, calling him a coward afraid of a child, and other childish insults. In the end, he could only be a rubbish like them, to live with them in peace.

Putting on a poker face, he roared at his cousin who had managed to get up: "Let me go, you son of a-!"

That's all he remembered about the situation, before waking up with a black spot on his right eye in the middle of the street.

Although, his parents acted on his aunt as a warning to teach her son manners, Goro felt humiliated by the events of that day. Moreover, his siblings laughed at him to a humiliating point.

"When I find that bastard, I'll give him a punch," He was afraid of what would happen, if he went too far like last time, "Just one punch!"

Now, Goro is being led by katsura to the group of mortals who joined the camp recently. Suddenly, he spots those amber-eyes, which coldly looked at him in that deserted alleyway.

Unlike like last time, they carry a bright glow that made him shiver lightly. However, he strengthens himself: if his cousin tries anything funny, they are other Tama-Artists to protect him, and if he survives that, only hell awaits.

Taking a deep deep breath, he rushes toward his cousin. Along the way, his arm expands, moving over to punch Lucy with all of Goro's might.

Seeing his cousin whizzing in the air, Goro feels joy from the depths of his soul.

"You bastard, what were you looking at?! I'm the boss of this place! This isn't back then, where I didn't have proper control of the Tama I awakened! I can beat you all I want!"

Inspite of having said that, Goro doesn't want to do it: after all, his cousin is an unpredictable man, and might come to his chambers to kill him at night.

After a minute of laughing, Goro clears his throat. He never expected to see his cousin, which prompted him to show an embarrassing scene. Now, he has to do his job, and spout nonsense to the mortals before sending them to their first mission.

However, he suddenly has a myocardial infarction, and dies, before going to heaven on a rowboat.

...well, that's the only place where such a fragment of divinity belongs.

Unfortunately, to Goro's delusion, he's still on Earth; his heart singing a war cry of joy proves that.

Thud. Thud.

—I want her a million times, and I want to sink into her embrace all day, like when I was still a baby in my mother's arms.

It has been a while since Goro last saw a girl; however, the girl before him is a rare beauty, and his type.

Petite, nourished, smooth pale skin with a faint glow. Her big silver eyes perfect her round face, giving her a doll-like appearance.

Not missing the chance, Goro walks toward her, sizing her up and down. Reaching, he caresses her long silver hair, and speaks in a polite, charming tone.

"Listen, Baby Girl. I don't know about you, but I'm open to all sorts of relationships. What's your name, mi babe?"

Sora's face cringes slightly in fright as Goro finished speaking. She wants to scream that she is cursed to have two genders, but she takes deep breaths, composing herself.

Thanks to Shinji telling her the difference between male and female, she now knows she is a girl, as she always dreamed to be. Gently, she bows down to show respect.

"My name is..." her face contorts slightly at her action: it's not like she is usef to getting hit on, "Haka Sora, Tama-Artist-sama."

Goro blushes, and wants to prolong the conversation by showing Sora the cool uses of his Tama. However, he feels something amiss, inciting him to sweat somewhat.

—I used all my Rei in attacking that cousin of mine! Damn it! I must look cool in front of this girl, but I'll save that for next time.

Goro moves away from the group. Since he might end up dating Sora, he needs to act cool, and he tells him to drop the words he wanted to tell them about how they should worship Tama-Artists.

Suddenly he notices another girl, and asks:

"What's your name?"

The girl answers in a raspy voice:

"Yananai Tsukino."

Not minding her tone, he nods pleasingly. Since he already has Sora in his eyes, there is no need for him to get friendly with other girls.

—I should tell those guys to stop flogging them.

'Why did I even agree to it? What kind of man does Sora-chan think I'm at the moment?'

Frowning, Goro coldly looks back.

"Dumbo!"

"Sir!" Someone from the newbies answered with vigor, thinking the call was made for everyone. However, upon seeing Katsura rush over to Goro, his heart sinks deep down to the earth's core, 'I'M DEAD! GRANDMA! I'M COMING SOON!'

Seeing his frightened look, Goro laughs heartily. Rather than annoyed, he finds the situation funny.

"Shut up, ugly bastard!"

Goro's hand went to Katsura's bold head.

"Dumbo is this Academy Failure, because his head is like a jumbo bun! This beggar's eyes look like that of a dead fish. His breath can kill the whole village! He is the Great Stinker; he doesn't remember the last time water touched his body! It must be the last time it rained, when frogs like him were jumping about! Under my order, you are free to call him Dumbo! If he does anything to you about it, especially the ladies, tell me!"

The newbies suppress their laughs; since they might end up missing in the middle of the night for making a sound.

After a few minutes, Katsura comes back, wearing an apathetic look. Furthermore, his eyes are viciously scanning for anyone looking at his solar panel funny. After finding the group tame as usual, his big lips move:

"Tsukino, lead this team to gather information about the Kushi village's new members. Report to your seniors any potential threats for the upcoming battle, and if possible, eliminate them. This is for your own good, not mine, but punishment will be given for failure."
