"Kiana! My dear daughter! Take me to a parallel world! I want a Herrscher of Binding Core too! I want to go back and save your mother! Don't you want to see your mother?! You must want to!"
"Aren't you the future emperor? If Noldrei can let Otto create a world with Kallen, what's wrong with me creating a world with Cecilia?!"
Siegfried Kaslana wailed, a mess of snot and tears, as he pleaded with his daughter.
Now, Kiana finally understood the difficulties of being an emperor, especially in a situation like this.
"After you ascend the throne, we'll kill the Honkai in a parallel world, then use that world's Herrscher of Binding Core to create a parallel world in our world where you have a mother! How about that?!"
"My daughter, Kiana! You don't want to ascend the throne without your mother watching, do you?!"
Siegfried's words were getting more and more out of line.
But Kiana knew the truth.
The reason Otto had to use such a method to resurrect Kallen was because Kallen was fated to die at Otto's hands for various reasons in every major worldline.
So he had no choice but to use this method to change Kallen's fate.
Kallen was like a convergence point on the Imaginary Tree. Even Cecilia didn't have that level of status or ability.
"Dad, our Kaslana Honkai imperial family may be the main rulers in various parallel worlds, but things are different. Otto had no other choice but to do that to create a world with Kallen. Even so, the Kallen of that parallel world is actually different from the Kallen of our world."
"That world's Kallen was revived, and that world's Otto still exists."
"It's like if you revived Cecilia, but for that Cecilia, there would still be that world's Siegfried. Dad, can you understand the problem here?"
"Are you planning to create a world where Cecilia is alive, but happily together with another Siegfried?"
Kiana's question struck the most vulnerable part of Siegfried's heart. He was dejected for a long time.
"...So Cecilia really can't come back?"
Siegfried collapsed onto the floor, completely dispirited.
He was supposed to be recovering mentally at Theresa's, but immersing himself in the Stigma Space, watching the memories of Cecilia drift by, almost made him drown in them, unwilling to come back up.
Similar situations had happened more than once.
He even regretted his attitude toward the Android Cecilia at the time. If he had been a little kinder to her back then, maybe she wouldn't have felt such despair when she left, despair that actively attracted the Herrscher Core to descend upon her.
But what was done was done. His attitude at the time had long been calculated by Noldrei.
Unlike Otto's scheming methods, Noldrei openly laid out the options, knowing you would inevitably choose this path. It wasn't a so-called "open conspiracy," but more like a confirmation of a person's mental state at the time, an understanding of a person's human nature in a particular moment.
If he had spent a little more time with the Android Cecilia, Siegfried would have involuntarily softened his attitude toward her, treating her as a truly independent life form.
However, too late was too late. What was gone was truly gone.
Even Otto could only guide the birth of a parallel world through the power of the Imaginary Tree to preserve Kallen's fateful trajectory.
"She can't come back. A severed life process cannot be reconnected. Even a future human can't change this. Otherwise, future humans could just rely on experience, memory, and other preserved powers to infinitely replicate the people they need."
"It's precisely because future humans know that a life once dissipated is destined not to return that they give up on this method to satisfy their desires."
"Come on, Dad, think of something happy. Your daughter is going to ascend the throne and become an empress in her lifetime! Although I'll be the empress who controls the Honkai and it's not related to inheriting Noldrei's position, at least we'll have two saints ruling the court. You should be happy!"
Siegfried's mouth twitched. He didn't know whether to congratulate Kiana or not. Kiana probably didn't know how Cocolia was ruining her reputation.
Especially since Noldrei was also planning to build a Moon Palace Academy City on the moon and have her be the empress there, looking down on her domain.
Not only that, but she would also have the service of various super-transport warships from Schicksal and Anti-Entropy.
Annihilating one or two of the five permanent members of the UN Security Council would be a trivial matter. Wasn't Russia just unlucky enough to be targeted by Noldrei?
There were even people in the United Nations who had the gall to say that monarchy was the best system, and that things like democracy and republics were all backward.
Fortunately, Cocolia had refuted these sarcastic remarks. She explained that the emperor was just a leader who had centralized the authority to use Honkai energy. This authority could be a council, a corporation, or a political party.
His Majesty the Future Emperor would surely delegate power. Didn't the British Empire go through the same thing?
What was wrong with the Empress spending her own money and energy to build a palace to play in? If you're not happy about it, you can go to the moon and claim some land to build your own palace!
The current Cocolia was already being mocked by the people of the world as a "spiritual citizen of the Moon Kingdom."
Siegfried changed the subject. "What about Sirin? Did she agree to help you with the construction on the Moon Capital?"
Kiana's face suddenly went blank at the mention of the name, as if it had hit a nerve.
"Yes, she was very happy to agree."
Siegfried was very surprised by Kiana's answer. "So quickly? Have things eased up between you two?"
"No..." Kiana said, her face flushing red. "Noldrei said he'd take her to a parallel world to play, and then said he'd build me a palace in the Moon Capital. He wants me to handle the work on Earth and inherit the position of supreme leader. They're going to go out and live it up, do whatever they want."
Siegfried hadn't expected the little Sirin to be so cunning. It was hard to say if this was wrong. After all, when they first started fighting the Honkai, they had agreed to find someone to centralize the Honkai energy and control its use.
Kiana was still young back then. How could she have known that after becoming the supreme leader, she would be stuck in the capital and unable to leave?
"Dad! I'll have a hard time leaving the Moon Capital in the future! When I think about how much fun they're having out there, how great their lives are, I just get so angry!"
"Those bastards just have to be happy, but it's different for me! I have so much more to consider!"
Kiana was full of grievances as she said this. She hadn't even been able to go out and play with Noldrei that many times.
We're both K-423, so why am I the unlucky one who has to be the Moon Empress in the end?
