Mia spent the entire night staring blankly at the ceiling in the darkness until dawn.
When her mother got up, she closed her eyes and pretended to be fast asleep.
Her mother gazed at her sleeping face affectionately for a while before getting ready and leaving the room.
She opened her eyes again and stared blankly at the ceiling until someone walked in.
Thinking it was her mother returning, she quickly closed her eyes again. The next moment, she realized it wasn't her mother but William.
He sat on the edge of the bed, his unique, pleasant masculine scent enveloping her.
"Mia..." he called her softly.
She pretended to murmur, "Mm?"
"I'm going to the company."
"Oh..." She pretended to be half-asleep, opened one eye to glance at him, then turned over and continued to laze in bed.
William smiled gently, leaned down to kiss her cheek, and reminded her, "Don't forget to pack your bags. We're going back to Paris tonight."
She just made a sound of acknowledgment.
