She cleared her mind and got up from the sofa to open the door. "Mom."
"I made you some lotus seed soup to clear heat and reduce inflammation. Try it."
"Thank you, Mom." She took the lotus seed soup from her mother and invited her to sit on the sofa in the room.
Her mother glanced at the purple velvet loungewear she was wearing and said kindly, "My darling daughter, you haven't gone out all day today, have you?"
Setting down the soup, she sat next to her mother and affectionately took her arm. "I came back to spend more time with you and Dad!"
Her mother patted her hand. "Good girl."
