"Kingsly… Can I have some time alone?"
That was the last thing Rachel said to Kingsly before he left the room.
The sorrow, despair, regret, and pain in her voice were all hidden beneath the strong façade she was trying to maintain.
Kingsly's dark eyes turned a dull gray as he stared expressionlessly at the distant horizon until the sound of footsteps approached.
It was Liam Archer. He came to the balcony, bowing respectfully to Kingsly, who was standing there. "Boss…"
Kingsly spoke softly. "Is she still in the room?"
Liam said, "I've asked Ann to go in and check on Miss Foster."
Kingsly nodded. "Have Jackson go in to keep her company. Seeing the child might cheer her up."
"Yes."
Liam turned and left.
Kingsly gazed at the now overcast sky, his deep, unfathomable eyes growing even darker.
The ringing of his phone interrupted his thoughts.
With no expression, he brought the phone to his ear.
