The skintight battle suit outlined Gwen's figure perfectly.
Her long, slender legs were wrapped in black, and beneath the fabric, the faint contours of muscle could be seen. The black extended upward, splitting into a V-shape just above her abdomen and running to her underarms.
Her upper body was mostly white, except for the insides of her arms, which were pink, patterned with blue web designs.
A white mask concealed her face, topped by a hood—pink on the outside, lined with blue webbing inside—that rested over her head.
But what drew the most attention was the emblem on her chest.
It was a spider with elongated legs, seemingly embracing Gwen's body, and on the spider's back was a prominent skull design, giving the emblem an eerie, unsettling feel.
Avenger Spider-Man—Gwen!
The moment the man saw her, he didn't think twice. He turned and bolted.
But a white wolf blocked his escape.
"Move!"
The man roared, his fist crackling with energy as he swung at Three-Eyes.
It was just a dog. He couldn't defeat Avenger Spider-Man, sure—but not even handle a dog? One punch would blow its head apart! His eyes flashed with vicious resolve.
But in that instant, Three-Eyes tapped its right forepaw against its left twice.
In the blink of an eye, its body expanded, returning to its true form—a massive wolf.
"Fuck!"
The man cursed, but with no room to dodge, he had no choice but to meet the beast head-on with his fist.
Yet the wolf didn't flinch. With a thunderous leap, Three-Eyes took the blow and slammed the man into the ground.
"Hsshh!"
Three-Eyes glared down with fury, jaws gaping wide as it lunged for the man's throat.
The man shrieked, like a terrified marmot.
With a wave of her hand, Gwen stopped the wolf's bite, then rushed forward and knocked the man unconscious with a single kick.
The next second, she vaulted onto Three-Eyes' back. "Go!"
They had been exposed. They needed to retreat—fast.
But before Three-Eyes could even take a few steps, space itself cracked open. A blue portal appeared in front of Gwen, and several figures emerged.
Gwen's face hardened. She patted the wolf's neck, and Three-Eyes veered sharply, sprinting in another direction.
But they didn't get far.
A figure appeared ahead, glanced at Gwen with a blank expression, and vanished like the wind.
In the next instant, pain exploded in her chest—she was struck by the man and blasted from Three-Eyes' back.
"Rooar!"
Three-Eyes roared, turning to snap at the man.
But the figure merely tapped off its back with a single step, his body vanishing again.
"Super speed?"
Flipping midair, Gwen landed lightly. Her eyes narrowed, and she tapped her earpiece. "Prepare to retreat. I've been surrounded in town—there are too many of them."
Peter's voice crackled urgently through the comm: "Harry and I are coming to help!"
Before Gwen could respond, the line went dead.
At that moment, her spider-sense flared. She sprang back just in time to dodge an ice spike shooting from the ground. A webline fired from her wrist, carrying her gracefully onto the airborne Three-Eyes.
But as the wolf landed, volleys of ice spears erupted from the ground, whistling toward them like bullets.
If it were just Gwen, she could dodge with ease. But Three-Eyes was far too large—and in midair, it had no way to maneuver.
So…
Blue flames blazed in Gwen's eyes. She pressed her hands firmly into the wolf's back.
Whoosh!
Azure fire engulfed both woman and beast.
Beneath her suit, Gwen's body became skeletal, her hooded head wreathed in blue fire. Three-Eyes changed as well—its bones protruded, wrapped in ghostly flame; its fangs sharpened, flickering with fire; its eyes burned with hellish light; and its four paws blazed like torches.
The storm of ice spikes shattered on contact, dissolving into steam.
The next moment, Three-Eyes hit the ground, leaving a trail of flaming pawprints as it charged ahead.
From the portal, the enemy squad spread out, launching their assault.
The speedster vanished again, darting toward Gwen.
Meanwhile, five others attacked.
A massive man stomped the earth, raising a towering wall of stone.
An icy-haired mutant snarled, molding snow and ice into a hail of arrows.
A woman with wooden-textured arms extended her hand, summoning a mass of writhing vines that lashed forward, snakes of greenery coiling for Three-Eyes' legs.
A short man raised his hand, invisible gravity dragging Gwen down, slowing the wolf's pace.
"Break through!"
Gwen barked, and Three-Eyes howled. Blue fire spewed from its jaws, blasting into the stone wall. At the same time, Gwen flicked her wrist, launching a webline.
It caught the speedster—and fire surged along the strand, racing into his body.
The man struggled desperately, but these webs, infused with the Fire of Vengeance, would not break so easily.
In the next heartbeat, blue flames erupted across him. His screams pierced the air as Gwen swung her arm, hurling him aside, before turning and unleashing a barrage of flaming web-bullets at the others.
They scrambled to dodge—only for the projectiles to twist midair into a burning web that fell over them.
"Haah!"
The massive man bellowed, raising another wall of stone.
But it lasted less than a second before the web's flames burned through it.
The net lost its momentum, collapsing against the broken wall and sliding uselessly to the ground.
"Heh."
Gwen smirked, spurring Three-Eyes forward. The wolf barreled through the fiery breach.
She could've easily taken down this group. The problem was the enemy had a space manipulator. Any delay, and reinforcements would flood in.
"Another clone with portal powers. This is getting old."
Gwen cursed inwardly.
They had only just dealt with one not long ago.
