Under Mike's expectant gaze, the two enemies locked inside a separate vehicle were finally brought before them.
One of them was a clone of Logan—his appearance identical to Logan's, except with a buzz cut, his expression permanently twisted in fury as he glared viciously at Mike and Logan.
Logan stared at him in disbelief, then gave a faint, dismissive snort.
A mere counterfeit.
The other enemy was tall and burly, completely bald, his fierce eyes fixed on Mike as if ready to pounce at any moment.
Mike simply smiled and crooked his finger at him.
Meanwhile, the remaining mercenaries had already withdrawn to a safe distance, weapons aimed squarely at Mike and Logan.
Just as the fight was about to erupt, a flaming, beast-like figure came charging into the battlefield, its roar echoing alongside blaring music. From the vehicle, two small figures stepped down.
Laura. Gwen.
In unison, Mike and Logan slapped their foreheads.
All eyes immediately turned to the pair. They stared coldly at the enemies, then suddenly spun toward Mike and Logan, making a gesture.
A thumbs-up.
Mike and Logan blinked in confusion—only for that thumb to twist downward.
Logan and Mike: _
The two girls marched up behind them and raised their hands…
Slap!
They smacked the backs of their heads lightly.
"You two deal with the mercenaries. These two opponents are far beyond you."
Expressionless, Mike pressed down on their heads, forcing them to turn in the opposite direction.
"Oh!"
Gwen obediently nodded, while Laura bared her teeth at Mike and Logan with a mischievous grin.
Dr. Rice's greedy eyes swept over Mike and Gwen, though fear made him shrink back slightly. He shouted loudly, "What are you standing around for? Attack, damn it!"
A bunch of fools! What's there to stare at? What's so entertaining about this?!
As his command rang out, the battlefield instantly erupted into chaos.
Bullets flew as Laura and Gwen charged forward side by side against the mercenaries.
Behind Gwen, an iron chain swung lightly as she moved. With a flick of her arm, the chain whirled before them, forming a shield of blue fire that blocked the hail of bullets.
"Yaaah!"
Laura let out a furious roar, leaping from behind the shield straight into the enemy ranks.
As the mercenaries tried to aim again, Gwen gave her chain a shake, scattering droplets of blue fire like liquid. Wherever they fell onto the mercenaries' weapons—
Screams erupted as they dropped their guns in agony.
Taking advantage of the moment, Laura darted among them, weaving with deadly agility. Her adamantium claws flashed in a blur, scattering blood in their wake.
While the two young ones handled the mercenaries, the battles of Mike and Logan had also begun.
Logan clashed directly with his clone, while Mike and his own opponent vanished from their spots simultaneously.
The difference was clear: Mike moved with overwhelming speed, while the other relied on teleportation.
Bang!
The two collided in midair with a dull crash.
The towering bald figure—whom Dr. Rice had designated Weapon Y19—was blasted down from the sky by one of Mike's punches.
But just as he hit the ground, Y19's body instantly transformed into steel.
Boom!
A thunderous explosion shook the ground. Y19 raised his head, eyes still filled with savage fury, but Mike only chuckled faintly. With a wave of his hand, a black combat suit appeared over his body.
A morning breeze swept past. The cape on Mike's back fluttered gently, before suddenly stretching into a thin, black line.
The next moment, Y19 flashed into existence where Mike had just been.
Teleportation and metallization?
Mike narrowed his eyes, raising his hand just in time to block the sudden punch aimed at his head.
Bang!
The clash of fist and palm unleashed a violent shockwave that swept outward.
Y19 continued teleporting, attacking from all sides like a phantom, his assaults exploding through the air in rapid succession.
Bang!
Suddenly, after another deafening impact, Mike seized Y19's hand. Before the man could teleport away, Mike's fist crashed into his face, hurling him down to the earth.
Boom!
Y19 slammed into the ground. As he crawled back out of the pit, panting, his body trembled—constant teleportation had drained his stamina, and worse, his speed was already slowing.
High above, Mike looked down at him, noticing the dent forming on Y19's forehead. He murmured coldly,
"I really overestimated you."
He had thought this foe would prove troublesome. But after exchanging blows, he realized Y19 was still weak.
What a disappointment.
Mike whispered softly, then descended like a black line from the sky, stomping down hard on Y19.
Y19 vanished, reappearing behind him—only to be caught by Mike's hand and smashed mercilessly into the ground.
Boom! Boom!
Mike swung Y19 like a hammer, pounding him into the earth and leaving a gaping crater. The man lay there dazed, utterly stunned.
A split second later, two blazing beams of heat vision cut across his body.
The battle was over in an instant.
Mike sighed, scratching his head as the combat suit faded away.
What a waste—he had even bothered to suit up, yet hadn't broken a sweat.
Casting a glance at Logan still locked in a bloody struggle with his clone, Mike instead strode toward the last vehicle, yanking the trembling Dr. Rice out.
"Don't kill me! Don't kill me!"
Rice stared at Mike in horror, pleading in a low, trembling voice.
Mike smiled. "Relax. You're still useful. I won't kill you."
At those words, Rice exhaled shakily, though his fear remained overwhelming.
By then, Laura and Gwen had already finished off the remaining mercenaries. Watching Logan still entangled with his clone, both sighed before charging in to assist.
As Logan and the clone briefly separated, Gwen's chain suddenly twisted midair like a living serpent, curling horizontally between them. With a sweep of her arm, the chain, blazing with blue fire, spiraled into a circular cage around the clone.
"Roar!"
The clone howled in fury, slashing wildly at the fiery prison with adamantium claws. But no matter how he struck, the chains would not break, driving him into even greater frenzy.
"Heh!"
Gwen shouted sharply, yanking the chain tight.
The cage contracted in an instant, wrapping the clone tightly like a cocoon and slamming him to the ground.
Logan stared in shock as Laura snatched up a handgun from the ground, quickly loading a silver bullet into the chamber.
Bang!
With a single gunshot, the clone's head was blown apart.
Clatter!
The fiery chains rattled as Gwen shrank them back onto her shoulder. Then the two little troublemakers turned to Logan and, in perfect sync, flipped him the middle finger.
