The entire place was quiet for a moment following Lance's announcement as it was very unexpected that it almost felt like a joke. Seeing as he wasn't taking it back, they all erupted into cheers, except Rika and just a handful who didn't look so overjoyed or celebrated at all.
Regardless, that evening, the elite troops gathered at the city's largest tavern to celebrate. The building was alive with laughter, music, and the clatter of mugs as they filled every available seat. The air smelled of roasted meat, spiced ale, and freshly baked bread.
The celebration lasted deep into the night for most, while for some, they left before things got too rowdy. Regardless, everyone was happy.
