"Luna, they are calling for you."
She went back to Ace, "I need to smoke."
Luna nodded, by now she knew the routine, she fetched the cigar's and went back to him.
"This way, Sir."
Ace followed her outside.
She now stood there and watched him smoke, so much ran through her mind.
"What is eating you?'
"Huh?"
"Do you want me to make that mother fucker pay?"
Luna's eyes widened. "No, that is not what I meant."
"Then what is it?"
"You didn't have to do that."
"Defend you?"
"Yes, I'm not worth it."
"Just accept it, Luna, and move on if that is what is making you so distressed."
"No, it's just that......…."
"Just what?"
"Never mind."
"Finish the fucken question Luna."
She huffed, "It's really not important, and...….."
"Now!"
"Fine, you are different."
He chuckled, "In what way?"
"I didn't expect you to you know."
"For me to step in?"
"Yes, it was not much of a big deal."
"But you are to me, Luna."
She blushed a bit, "Oh....."
He shook his head, "The shit you are making me do."
"You do it out of the goodness of your heart."
"There is nothing good about me."
"There is Ace, I don't see eye to eye with you, but tonight, thank you."
"You don't have to thank me."

"Luna, you are making this a bigger deal than what it is."
She sighed, of course, he would never admit it, and he didn't want to have any good in him. She wondered if he enjoyed what he did.
"What?"
She snapped out of her thoughts, "Huh."
"Why are you looking at me with something akin to pity?"
"I did?"
"Yes."
"It's nothing, I swear."
She didn't want to ask him any questions, not wanting to give him the wrong idea as to where they stood.
She was finally getting rid of him, and she didn't want to bring him back to her life once more.
"We should head back if you are done."
"No, let me have this moment with you."
"What?"
He groaned, "See, this is the shit that you are making me say."
"Yeah, all my fault, Sir."
She needed to bring back the boundaries, this was just a slip that she had to fix.
"How is.........." He seemed to choke out the words.
"William?" She asked hesitantly.
"Yes."
"He is great, why are you asking, you didn't do any...….."
"Relax, Luna, I didn't do anything to him."
"O,h so why bring him up?"
"He is the guy that is making you happy, so it's natural for me to be curious as to how he is doing and what you see in him."
"Everything, he is the opposite of you."
"Was that necessary?"
"Huh?"
"To compare us?"
"It slipped out."
"I see."
"We should head back inside before they start speculations."
"Why does it matter?"
"It's my reputation on the line."
"If you know that you did nothing wrong, then there should be no issue."
"Well, I don't want rumors to spread and to hurt the guy I lo......…"
Luna stopped mid-sentence, and her own revelation shocked her. Was she in love with William?
Panic set in, what if he didn't feel the same way, should she confess? Was she going to fast and would he dump her if she told him?
"You love that fucker."
"NO!"
"Luna don't fucken lie."
"This is all new to me, and I didn't expect to say those words, okay. So just give me some space, Ace!"
He chuckled, "Wow, you want love and you get it, now it frightens you. You don't know what you want."
"Don't lecture me on love, Ace, you don't know anything about it."
"Oh, but I do, Luna."
"What?"
"I had a lover before."
She could hear a hint of pain in his voice.
"What happened to her?"
"That is another story for another day. We have to head back inside."
Wow he was evading her question, part of her wanted to know the story badly. Who was the girl that brought the Ace to his knees but now was not the time. He was right and they had been gone for a very long time. People would be speaking by now.
So she just nodded, "Shall we?"
He nodded, "After you."
